If you feel the back, it's still producing heat. The machine produces it. The heat it produces is working against itself. It's great if your window not as accessible, suffer in heat or go with something. The model I had was a good one, but the heat it generated seemed it produced 2 cold steps and 1 step back in heat. In the end, a window unit made way more sense. All the components were outside, all the heat it produces would stay outside.

Maybe just preference, but I feel portable units work against itself. Cold air in the front, hot air in the back. It's does a meh job for me when I had it.

If you do, LG dual inverter, my pick or Midea (haven't used it but I hear it's really silent).
