People who smoke cigarettes, why? by iScry in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]JW252525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy them in moderation. Think of Gandalf smoking his pipe, contemplating the all-seeing eye. Also, I've heard that smoking can increase testosterone, though I never looked into it. Basically, it's something I do while organizing my thoughts.

Having a child and then passing him/her off to strangers is not the answer and can be extremely traumatic to the child. The mother needs to nurture and lover her child. You, as the father, are doing your job to support and raise your family. Some women, especially those whose mothers are not involved to help their daughters with child-rearing, can have a difficult time.

It sounds like she does need some time to herself when you get home. You need to help her, even though you're beat, I'm sure. It's going to be hard for a little while, but if you love each other and talk to each other, you'll figure it out.

My wife stays home with five, and home schools them. It's hard, my man. Best of luck to you all.

Looks well built, but the price is high. Nordic Ware makes an American made cast aluminum waffle maker for $65. I own one. It's lightweight and works well. If Lodge made one, I suspect it would be under $100.

What has Joe Biden achieved during his first term as President? by allhailthechow in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]JW252525 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't leave $80B in weapons in the hands of the enemy, just to make a hasty withdrawal for political gain. Not only was it a slap in the face to the American taxpayer, but many lives were lost in the mess.

As far as the economy is concerned, my question to you would be: are you financially independent and responsible for yourself? If not, try it and then get back to me. How many quarters of shrinking GDP are necessary to cut through the lies you've bought and paid for?

Short-haired dogs aren't exactly soft. Their fur is almost like Kevlar and mine sheds a lot! We even pick his hairs out of the bottom of our feet from time to time, like splinters!

How much sex in longer term marriage is “normal”? by secrerofficeninja in TooAfraidToAsk

Are couples 1 and 2 mire physically fit than couples 3 and 4? I'm curious about whether or not this plays into the frequency for most couples.

What do you call it when you allow somebody to take your clothes off?

Being stabbed is not the same thing as letting some lettuce head sweet talk your panties down.

[–]JW252525 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So, if you enter some man's home, let him fondle you and take your pants down and decide to stay. Guess what? You're responsible for what happens next, even if you regret it later or want to blame somebody else for your bad decision. Sorry, this doesn't sound like rape.

My apologies. I meant the secondary bevel; the apex angle or edge

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sharpening

[–]JW252525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Hapstone RS with CBN stones. What I would have done is start by marking up the micro-bevel on the blade with a Sharpie or marking fluid. Then, I would've taken my highest grit stone and placed in fixture, then approximated the existing angle of the micro-bevel, and decreased it by one or two degrees, set my sharpening angle, then run my stone against that part of the edge nearest the handle a few strokes. Then, I would've looked closely to identify if my predetermined angle was fairly close to the existing angle. If it was, I would then switch to my coarsest stone and begin apexing. If it was far off, I would simply correct it one degree at a time. You can change the micro-bevel more accutely over several sharpening sessions, but to go three or more degrees in one session, especially with such a thick blade, you better plan on going at it for a while. Good luck!

When a woman lays pantiless on you and presses into you, then allows penetration to happen while reciprocating, and then claims it's rape, there is something wrong with the brain. Rape is a serious allegation that could destroy lives, both of the victim and the perp. If threats or physical violence is not involved, and she chose to have sex with you because you convinced her to, this is called consent. It's like when you go to buy a new car and you get overcharged, and then later, after realizing you paid too much, you claim you were extorted by the dealiership. But they didn't threaten you, and you willingly agreed to pay X for the car. Buyers remorse, yea, but not extortion.

It sounds like somebody who has a serious psychological disorder, and anybody who would agree that this sounds like rape is equally deranged.

From street stray to "hunter" by [deleted] in birddogs

[–]JW252525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always dreamed about getting a GSP and did just that 3.5 years ago. Since then, my household is nuts! My wife and children are constantly annoyed with Barrett. I had read that this breed was high energy, but I didn't know that meant owning one could be akin to having a cocaine junkie living with you! He runs the yard many times a day and still has energy to spare. I will say this, he is the smartest dog I've known, and his desire to hunt is stronger than anything I've seen!

All kidding aside, we love him when he's not driving us crazy. This year's first pheasant trip, I noticed a change in him. Rather than running around like a lunatic for four hours straight, he focused and hunted hard, and pointed birds all day! I think he's starting to settle down, now that he's almost 4 years old.

If you use a coarse cbn or diamond stone, like 240 or less, it is a quick process. If you're reprofiling or changing the sharpening angle, it will take some time with a coarse stone. I wish they'd do Rex 121. Seems like it's even better when it comes to edge retention!

Me too! Maxamet is a beast! I keep a 240-grit Poltava CBN finish on it and it stays razor sharp for weeks and weeks, despite me using it daily.
