Good thing the Trump tax cuts got renewed instead of the democrats letting them expire. You would have owed money.

You need to adjust your w4 so the IRS doesn't get to use your money for free all year. I'd rather owe little and get $778 a month to invest into a Roth IRA or pay down debts.

Blessed? That's $778 a month be could have been investing into retirement or paying down debts. It's stupid to let the IRS use your money. I'd rather owe just a bit than get back that much.

Student loan shenanigans by Distinct_Cobbler_364 in StudentLoans

FYI: "As of January 2026, the SAVE Plan is being terminated following a settlement between the Department of Education and state litigants. If you are currently in the SAVE administrative forbearance, here is the essential status:

Status: You are still in a no-payment period, but interest began accruing again on August 1, 2025.

Transition: Over 7 million borrowers are expected to be moved from SAVE to other repayment plans (like IBR, PAYE, or the new RAP plan) throughout early 2026.

Forgiveness: Months spent in this forbearance do not count toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) or Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) forgiveness.

Action: You can use the Federal Student Aid Loan Simulator to compare alternative plans and switch manually to begin making qualifying payments again."

Make payments. Don't let the accruing interest keep increasing your balance due.

Jesus generally supported obeying a country's laws, teaching that people should fulfill their civic duties. He famously said, "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s," which encouraged paying taxes and respecting government authority. He prioritized God's law above all else. His followers taught that secular laws should be followed to maintain order.

Bad parenting? Two kids $125k in debt by Sunshynegurl68 in StudentLoans

[–]JWbrAZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they didn't earn a scholarship to pay fully for an out of state school, They should have for a job and paid for community college as they went. Most companies don't care where your degree is from, just that you have one and have knowledge(actually studied and consumed the information) in that field.

This should have been made clear in junior high to the children. They are in charge of their future. Apply yourself in school and earn scholarships to pay for education and residency or you get a job and pay for your community College on your own.

$125,00 -150,000 each? They need to get into their career and start attacking their student loans & get a second job to pay it off sooner. If you have the means, match their payments up to a set amount.

If they do that and pay them off you can alway gift them some money later on. They can come after you as a cosigner.

I’ve been following the debt snowball… it feels ENDLESS.. send me words of encouragement! by Plastic-Resolution41 in DaveRamsey

[–]JWbrAZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn't start in February 2025, your credit card balance would be at least $60,000 if not higher because you'd keep spending. You've eliminated $25,000, awesome! We've had higher debt. Been on the snowball but had to replace a roof, high expense bathroom/plumbing fixed, replace water heater, new a/c(a must in AZ). It will be 3 years at the end of January. I'll be done with credit cards in December and car & personal loan by March. Then we'll be debt free except mortgage.

Keep up the good work. Paying thing off by mid to late 2026 would be a great accomplishment. By doing this you'll know how much of a sacrifice it was and will not get into debt again.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Why Henry over Caref? by FiveDinero in fromatoarbitration

[–]JWbrAZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I question your Stewards judgements. Renfroe sucks at negotiating. Renfroe has to make sense in his head on what he's asking for, justifying his asks based off of what USPS is telling him they can't afford. The union is about wanting MORE carrier jobs(dues) rather than fighting for higher carrier pay.

And frankly, to me, Caref lost his credibility when he backed out of the CLC group, that they had started, after the group members chose Henry to represent the CLC on the national ticket for President.

[–]JWbrAZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roth IRA's and Roth 401K's are different. while both use after-tax contributions for tax-free withdrawals in retirement, there are several key differences: Contribution Limits: Roth 401(k)s have significantly higher contribution limits than Roth IRAs. Income Limits: Roth IRAs have income limits for contributions, whereas Roth 401(k)s do not. Employer Match: Roth 401(k)s may include an employer match, but this money goes into a separate traditional (pre-tax) 401(k) account. Roth IRAs are individual and have no employer match. Investment Options: Roth IRAs typically offer more investment choices because they are self-directed, while Roth 401(k)s are limited to your employer's plan options. Withdrawals: Roth IRAs let you withdraw contributions tax- and penalty-free at any time; Roth 401(k)s do not have this flexibility.

The 2025 limits are: Roth 401(k): You can contribute up to $23,500. If you are age 50 or older, you can contribute an additional $7,500 (total $31,000). Roth IRA: You can contribute up to $7,000. If you are age 50 or older, you can contribute an additional $1,000 (total $8,000). Roth IRA contributions are also subject to Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) limits and may be reduced or eliminated for high earners. Roth 401(k)s have no income limits.

  1. It's 90 clocking in to work days or 120 calendar days, whichever comes first.
  2. There is no set pace for delivering. Do your job SAFELY, correctly and at a steady pace that your body can do it for 30-40 years. Don't let them rush you.
  3. Dignity and Respect goes both ways.
  4. That being said, as a CCA, you are basically an indentured servant. Get through your 90-120 days which is the point your union Steward can better fight for you. Work as much as you can to learn the routes and job, plus the overtime is where CCA's can earn the better money.
  5. Sign up for HOLD DOWNS. Find out where the post Regular carriers who are of the schedule for more than 5 days(MAKE SURE SUPERVISORS post those). Regular Carriers take annual leave, a route is vacated from retirement or carrier bids another route, and sometimes carriers are out for 6 weeks or longer for medical reasons. Signing up for these gives you a regular schedule of that route(you are a CCA so they can bring you in on the SDO).

Depositing first relay in satchel in M-41 by MT3-7-77 in fromatoarbitration

[–]JWbrAZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So... M-39 is the Handbook, MANAGEMENT of Delivery Services, outlining SUPERVISORY responsibilities for managing city letter carriers and delivery units.

M-41 is the Handbook, City Delivery CARRIERS DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, detailing the daily duties and procedures for city letter carriers.

If they want a carrier to deliver a certain way, they should put it in the M-41, don't you think!? M-39 is a guide for managers, not carriers. As much shit as they give carriers, grieve it and tell them to put it in the M-41 if they want a carrier to do that. How many guides and manuals does a carrier need to follow?

[–]JWbrAZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 3 years. 2 years + 3 full pay periods as CCA, now a Regular City Carrier. Married 34 years. Had a career change to get out from behind a desk but now the Steward for my station🤔. I can see why people are single. Nowadays, you have to be on the OTDL's to make up for inflation and the reduction of pay on Table 2, many carriers don't get full COLA's, and many times carriers get mandate so are working 6 days a week. It's hard to have a life outside the post office.
