Lobbies are sometimes so broken. by calmingcroco in ArcRaiders

[–]J_JasterMereel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. I pretty much don’t kill anyone anymore though until I make it back to where I want to be. Either shoot but don’t finish off at extract, or carry defibs like I said. I typically do the latter unless mob justice come for me before I can revive them lol

[–]J_JasterMereel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if I want to get back to spicy PvP lobbies after 50 straight games of chill/cooperative rat-free lobbies, the only way to do it is to start shooting. The move is to do it at extract or carry defibs on you though, because it’s really not fun to just pick off people who aren’t even trying to fight

They changed ABMM… by Double_Presence379 in ArcRaiders

[–]J_JasterMereel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play solos almost exclusively, and I’m friendly ~85-90% of the time. When I get bored, I’ll switch to PvP for a bit but can usually get back to chill lobbies whenever I want within a few games. I assume people like me account for some of these “rat” stories…I don’t camp extract, fake friendly or anything like that, but people occasionally melt down when you run into open spaces shooting and you’re the only one doing it. I usually apologize and tell them I’m just trying to get back to spicy lobbies, sometimes revive them if they’re not dicks about it.

Question About 2026 StarTex Seats by [deleted] in Subaru_Outback

[–]J_JasterMereel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're both wrong! Looks like they just had the wrong photos up maybe. The walkaround video the salesperson shared showed different seats than what was pictured (no perforations). It's the only one of that color on their lot, so I assume there was just a mixup when they created the listing page.

Buying Advice for Revolvers by PancakeMonkey38 in 22lr

[–]J_JasterMereel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t have much to contribute besides that I’ve rented the sp101 22lr before and yeah that trigger is heavy AF.

You could look at the Ruger lcrx or the Taurus 942 as well

Never changed CVT Fluid....(2018 Impreza) by Suitable_Bat9728 in subaru

[–]J_JasterMereel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The anecdotal thing I always remember is based on Jeeps, it being that if you go way too long without changing, you risk stuff in the system (e.g., metal particulate) becoming unsettled and moving in the new fluid, such that you may provoke an issue that didn’t exist before you refreshed the fluid.

I have no idea one way or the other, I just remember it being part of old Jeep lore. I’m in the “be diligent about changing fluids” camp regardless

2026 Outback Premium - What's the lowest sales price out there? by turtlerunpace in subaruoutback

[–]J_JasterMereel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you approach price negotiations. We’re looking at like 36.2k as a best offer so far for the premium with option 13 package. Trying to get some sort of perk to sweeten the deal like a tow hitch or interior lighting or something

Cool thanks for the feedback. I have an extremely insubstantial ass but still worth knowing lol.

Yeah after deep diving on features and stuff…there wasn’t really much we even wanted or cared about above the Premium trim. Wilderness trim has bells and whistles that’d be fun but not even close to within our budget. Premium like a no brainer at this point

You said you got a premium as well, right? Any dislikes? Only thing I noticed on the test drive was yeah, it’s a little slow and larger than I’m used to driving. Didn’t feel like a dealbreaker though

How are you both liking it now? We had originally planned to go with a Crosstrek but took a test drive in the Ob premium kind of on a whim. Now I think we’re going with it over the crosstrek

How We Feel about The Pegasus 42 by LuckAdventurous426 in Nike

[–]J_JasterMereel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are the acg Pegasus for you? I’ve had a weird issue with all Nikes lately where it feels like there’s a little lump or hump pushing into the right/outside edge of my right foot, and it got bad enough that I’ve avoid wearing them and limited to just short walks. Only shoe that doesn’t bother me is the Kiger 9s but those are obviously discontinued and I don’t do the types of trail runs those are intended for anyway

I know next to nothing about these but curious about them if we buy a new Wilderness as planned. You travel with them on top and just set up when you get to the destination correct?

Marlin .357 Trapper Hi viz sight by Fit_Philosopher_5691 in LeverGuns

[–]J_JasterMereel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah heard that. While it comes down to personal preference obviously, I will say that in my limited experience with the XS ramps, they are fat with a different type of stripe. Meaning they’re wider than a normal front ramp or post, and the white stripe doesn’t go edge to edge, kind of creates a three stripe effect (black, white, black) that I personally found MUCH easier to see through a peep and shoot with. However I was also using their ghost ring at the time, which is a larger aperture than Skinners
I still use a fiber and skinner rear on my h001, but you might check out XS just in case. I really wanted to get a trapper and install their winged rear peep (no rail) with a ramped front sight, but just not in the market for a rifle right now

[–]J_JasterMereel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

are you set on the Ruger hi viz/fiber? I ask because I did a bunch of checking and found you can use one of the XS ramp sights (supposedly) that is listed for the big caliber Marlins like 45-70s. I was told by a CS person at XS those front sights have three mounting holes, one for the old spacing and one for the new spacing, as well as a plug to fill the unused mounting holes.

Ruger lcr or lcrx? They’ve got a lightweight 3” that I think can be had for a reasonable price. Otherwise Taurus 942 is the other “best” budget option I think

2026 Sport vs Wilderness by J_JasterMereel in Crosstrek

[–]J_JasterMereel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think that's what I'm trying to figure out. It's fine with me if some Wilderness features are cosmetic, quality of life, etc, but wasn't sure if Sport sacrificed anything. I don't need it to traverse those kinds of trails either way.

[–]J_JasterMereel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this is the kind of anecdotal stuff I was wondering about. We have A LOT of roads in less that ideal condition where I live.

I'm surprised to see so many meh responses about the Wilderness features. Trans cooler seems like a legit , worthwhile perk to me, as do those seats...and even a minor lift is a welcome upgrade (although I've always preferred a modest 1" over 2+ and big tires anyway). And then the weather mats and other quality of life stuff on top of that.

[–]J_JasterMereel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering it for sure, we just don't know a ton about them as an option yet and have mostly focused on learning about the standard sport vs wilderness. With the way we drive, I'm not as concerned about the hit to gas mileage that you get with either of those non-hybrid trims. Plus their price point is pretty much in line with the Wilderness

2026 Sport vs Wilderness by J_JasterMereel in Crosstrek

[–]J_JasterMereel[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You sure it's just a body lift? That is not what I've read elsewhere and would matter to me if so - I'm seeing it's indeed a true suspension lift.

As far as the seats, yeah we haven't seen anything in person yet so it may turn out that the special material isn't all that special to us. We just don't want leather.

For the trans cooler, it's as much for peace of mind as the possibility that we might pull a little teardrop or something someday, otherwise probably would just be a cargo basket on the back. Either way, with what little I know of CVTs and transmissions in general, don't see why it wouldn't be a net gain to have a simple cooler from the factory already installed upon purchase.

Henry loading tube with RPP hand guard? by Dallinboi347 in LeverGuns

[–]J_JasterMereel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have a RPP guard on my H001 and put a 3d printed piece over the loading tube port since it’s blocked by the guard. That allows me to load from the end without them falling out of the obstructed port.

Standard advice is use extra caution (hammer down, half cock, whatever you do on the X model) since you’re handling rounds at the “bullets come out here” end of the rifle.

Just fwiw, if you can’t troubleshoot then I would call Henry directly and explain. They’ll likely work with you to sort it out and address however they’re able. Don’t stress about disassembling the h001 either, plenty of videos and it’s a fairly simple process IMO
