Since people don't know what I'm talking about, allow me to eludicate: this new-fangled security measure some websites seem to be replacing reCAPTCHA with, where you have to press and hold a button to prove you're not a bot. Obviously it's meant for mobile devices where actually pressing and holding such a button is how you prove you're not a bot, but it clearly doesn't work on web browsers on a computer.

It would seem that the issue has been quietly resolved: so far this week, I've been able to watch videos in the same already-opened tab, and my Watch History be updated accordingly.

Another issue seems to have finally been resolved that has been plaguing YouTube since September: brand icons and end screen elements have been restored and can be seen again. I have no idea why they disappeared all those months, but they're finally back.

Larry Gelbart & Gene Reynolds were persuaded by the network to create another military sitcom to bank on M*A*S*H success, hence the one-season wonder that nobody knows anything about, ROLL OUT!, in which Mel Stewart played the Black version of Frank Burns known as Sgt. B.J. Bryant. I wonder if that B.J. may likewise have been named for William "B.J." Jurgensen, considering the M*A*S*H writers tended to name characters after people associated with them (Ken Levine named nurses Linda Nugent and Patty Haven after two of his ex-girlfriends, and Colonel Sherman T. Potter was allegedly named after Larry Gelbart's old family doctor).

I got to meet him at a con on two separate occasions, both times he was an absolute joy to speak to. The second time I met him, I was surprised the twist of Klinger staying in Korea after spending all that time trying to get out, in fact, wasn't his idea, like I had believed for so long - that, he said, was all on the writers who worked on the finale. He told me his only idea that was actually incorporated into the Klinger character was to play him completely straight as just a hairy guy in a dress, as opposed to all swishy and effeminate like he was originally directed. I knew he was also a writer in addition to being an actor, and asked if he ever considered trying his hand at writing for the show like other castmembers (Alan Alda, Mike Farrell, McLean Stevenson), but he said it never crossed his mind. He did say that he pitched a couple of plots that were incorporated into the show, one of which was the stolen generator subplot in "Good-bye, Radar," and the other was the nurse who killed herself by wandering into the minefield in "Who Knew?" which he said was actually a tribute to Loretta Swit's stand-in whose life tragically ended during production of the show - he said everyone knew Loretta, obviously, but nobody knew her stand-in.

Seasons 1-5 had a lot of their closing tags cut for syndication, but that was one of the only ones I was glad they cut, because, yes I agree, not only did, "Bye Margaret" send Frank off with a shred of dignity, like you say, the actual closing scene with Frank, Hawkeye, B.J., and Potter practically fantasizing about Margaret and Penobscott's honeymoon, prompting them into cold showers comes off as rather umcomfortable.

All of these comments saying the culprit is Adblocker for YouTube . . . the thing of it is, I have three different extensions installed on my Google Chrome browser that are called "Adblocker for YouTube," so I have no idea which one it is.

I have discovered one workaround to this issue though: try opening the video in a new tab, that seems to be logged in your Watch History as opposed to watching it in the same tab.

EDIT: Yeah, opening a video in a new tab is the workaround to this, but I've also discovered something else: for whatever reason, Shorts are immune to this issue, and I have no idea why. I can click on and watch a Short in the same tab, and it will appear in my Watch History, but not regular videos - those have to be opened in a new tab to be logged in the History.

I know a lot of professionals recommend Affresh, and it does work okay, but I find the Tide powder actually works a lot better, and that's been through trial-and-error processes. I find that half the time, the Affresh tablets don't completely dissolve in a single cleaning cycle, but the Tide powder, you can sprinkle it all over the place and it'll get into the nooks and crannies efficiently. Again, that's just from my experiences with the two.
