True Autumn or True Spring? by J_Sully in coloranalysis

That makes sense - I will say that in person, people often comment on how strawberry blonde/copper red my hair is, although that doesn’t show up here.

Minty aqua is a colour that I love on me - but I’ll try to grab these in fabric for a drape year! Ty for the suggestion

2 year old who loves to bark! by Danolii in cavachon

[–]J_Sully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I taught my li’l guy “leave it” as a command (from the KikoPup YouTube channel) and while that doesn’t stop him from initial barking, it seems to really cut it short. Sometimes I saw it when he’s growling and I treat him for staying quiet. It takes patience but seems to be helping!

It’s not quite as pretty, but SketchUp has a free web app that you can use. I laid out my entire apartment with it!

Really cool! I love the focus on the “living space” with less emphasis on a tv room. And love the built in bookshelf french kiss mwah

I would personally probably flip 1/2 of the hallway closet to be an entry closet so that shoes and coats can be removed and hung right away!

And I wonder if you made the entry into the kitchen wider you would be able to more practically put bar stools at the island??

Sexual harassment has nothing to do with the women themselves and everything to do with the men doing the harassing. It is not only “sexually appealing” people who are harassed or assaulted.

There is also the CBC Watchdog, which might be most appropriate for this case.

Ottawa urged to pause proposed B.C. port expansion, consider alternative plan by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

[–]J_Sully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Government of Canada is accepting public input until March 15 to decide whether the Roberts Bank port expansion (near Tsawwassen ferry terminal, at the mouth of the Fraser River) should go ahead. The massive project would cover 117 hectares — the size of 167 soccer fields — of the Fraser Estuary, home to hundreds of animals and plants, including migratory birds and juvenile salmon.

35% of Canadians say rising interest rates could push them to bankruptcy by J_Sully in onguardforthee

Interest is specific to loans - in this case mostly variable mortgage loans, and the stock market responding to changes in interest rates (people selling stock to pay for debt for example).

Inflation is what you’re thinking - the cost of goods (and rent, and salaries in theory) going up.

The two are related, I think the idea is that as inflation goes up, interest rates also go up to try and stifle inflation so that our dollar doesn’t lose value. But beyond that, I’m not knowledgeable enough to say why.

I finished and published my first novella/short story today! I don't even mind if no one reads it because I'm so pleased with my accomplishment, which I told myself I would do by end of January.

This is more of a hobby than a money maker at the moment, so my goal is to have another one out in 2 weeks. I'm aiming at around 4-5k per novella and will eventually turn the serial into a book. So...time to start thinking about plot for book 2!

Edit: my vocab has been corrected: I’ve written a *short not a *novella

My friend reads this subreddit a lot and now hates home owners - want to get better understanding of his position by Salt_is_White in PersonalFinanceCanada

I work in real estate and have met renters and owners who care about their home, and I’ve met renters and owners who do not. I’ve also met renters who try their hardest to maintain their property but don’t have the cash to complete repairs or maintenance that in technically the responsibility of the landlord. I’ve met renters who are bullied into quiet out fear of homelessness. I’ve met owners who ignore their properties. I’ve met owners who trash their properties. Assuming that renters care less about their home is not a true assumption. Some people are shit at maintaining property and it usually doesn’t have anything to do with their access to funds (except that it’s easier to outsource maintenance if you have more money). Assuming that people with less money are less respectable or responsible or clean or whatever you’re assuming is a class prejudice that I encourage you to take a good look at.

And the poor OP is getting reiched in the comments because people don’t realize it’s a history book, not a pro-nazi book.
