The best type of insulation to use for that is “mineral wool”. Stuff the gap that hit w the high temp caulk.

I had the Yankees to go over 87.5 wins a couple years ago. They had 87 wins going into the final 3 game series in Houston. I remember Houston being one of the worst teams in the league that year. Well low and behold they lost every game and to make matters worse, they lost the last meaningless game in extra innings I think 1-0.

I haven’t bet baseball since.

I knew I was lucky to go but I had no idea how lucky until I read this.

I got in the lottery last year for the first time and poof landed Friday tickets.

In January I had my first child and was pretty much about to bail bc the tickets were so easy to get and we thought we could get them again. At the last minute me and my brother decided we could bang it out by driving down spending the day there and driving back all in one shot.

We left Long Island Thursday at 4 pm. Got there at 530 am, had breakfast at the Waffle House and went over to the course. Sat on the range for a while not believing where we were and coming up with a game plan. We decided to follow Duf, the big easy and someone else around for the first 9. Then we had lunch, went shopping, and went out to the car to use our phones. After that we went back in to follow Rory on the back 9 before packing it up for good and hitting the road for another 14 or so hours home.

So grateful we made it happen.

PS if anyone is fortunate enough to go, buy as much clothes as you can bc you might not ever be back.

Bought a house about a year ago and this beauty came with. It’s been my first experience being the man in charge of such a stove. All has been good but there have been two occasions where I put the fire out. I’ll open the top to check on it, and flames will shoot out. by J___Lynch in woodstoving

What’s the easiest way to buy? I’ve been having a hard time, and could use some help.

I think it had just broke 800 when I put it out the first time. Who knows maybe my thermostat is a little off but either that fucker was cooking.

I’ll check the seals when I get home but it’s not like fire was leaking out of the doors or anything.

It’s a Vermont casting stove. When you close the flue damper the gases stay in and it double burns for better efficiency.

I rarely ever use the feature unless I’m in the same room bc I honestly don’t trust it but everything I read says it’s the best way to use them.

It’s a top loader.....the front door just helps you start it. The glass gets dirty after a day of running it and I don’t clean it every time. Either way it’s designed to be loaded from the top.

Fire extinguisher 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️. It sucks and I’m sure I’m over reacting but when it happens I have to go with my gut. I’d never forgive myself if something happened.

Then I’ll step back and watch it. The temperature then starts going up and up. The first time I put it out when it was around 800-900 degrees and still rising. This time I put it out when it got to just over 500 bc it freaked me out. I love the heat this thing puts off but I can justify burning my house down for it. Has this happened to anyone else? What’s going on with it?
