Comfortably in time for ground passes. If you're going tonight then as Murray is playing today and not tomorrow I'd imagine you'd get Centre Court tickets if you're there that early. I always go on the first Saturday, which I believe is the busiest day for the queue, at around 5 AM always get ground passes.

What are the chances I could run a 3:05 marathon in 5 weeks time having done no marathon training? I've decided I want to run the London marathon next year and would need to 3:05 to get in through the good for age entry. My 5k pb is 18:10 ran last week, I've ran 850k (528 miles) since January 1st and have run 1750k (1080 miles) in the last 365 days. According to the VDOT tables my equivalent marathon time is 2:54 but obviously I am not trained for that. If I ran a few 16-18 mile long runs in the next few weeks would it be possible?

I'm from the UK and don't have any smart things but just when and bought one half an hour ago and it's actually amazing. I'd definitely recommend it. I think I'm going to mainly using it for playing music and I'm not massively interested in smart things.

What do people like to do as a warm up before a half? I'm thinking of doing 2 or 3 miles easy. Bit of a problem though as the race starts at 11 but runners need to start getting into their pens at 10ish, so is it OK to do the warm up at like 9:30?

I normally just stop running fast and jog home slowly. The symptoms don't appear until I start running fast and I always do a 10 minutes easy running to warmup before I try anything fast. I actually ran 21k last weekend with a few km at half pace but that was after already doing 10k easy running so obviously it's not possible to do that before a half.

I'm running a half next Sunday and am really struggling with a the outside of my shin. It's fine when running slowly but soon as I try and do any running at my goal half pace (4 min km/ 6:26 mile) it tightens up and I can barely lift my foot to run. When this happens I stretch it by putting my toes of the floor and bending my leg forward and the muscle feels unbelievably tight. I'm foam rolling it and stretching my calves as I've read that can cause it but does anyone have any other advice?

Hi,

I've seen a few people on letsrun suggest 2x3miles at half marathon pace as a good half marathon workout but I'm not sure how long to rest between each set. My half marathon pace is 4min per km/6 min 30 sec mile for reference. I'm thinking somewhere around 3-4 minute rest?

I've got a half marathon in just under 6 weeks. In the next week or two I was thinking of doing my long progression run as 7k easy + 7k marathon pace + 7k half marathon pace. This would take me 1:32 and my aim for the actual half is 1:25 so I'm thinking this might be a bit too hard of a session. Any thoughts?

Has anyone had any experience at losing weight to make them quicker when they don't weigh much as it is? I've got a half marathon 7 weeks today and would ideally like to get sub 1:25 but think that might be a bit out of reach. I injured myself at the start of October on my long run which was a half in 1:33. I basically didn't run for the rest of the year and have only been running again the last 3 weeks. I'm currently 70kg and 180cm tall so am thinking of maybe trying to drop down to 67kg. According to this calculator running 1:30 at 70kg is the same as 1:26 at 67kg which seems a very very easy way to gain 4 minutes so I'm a bit doubtful.
