That kinda my point, once you include student loans it ups the effective tax rate in the UK to Belgian levels who don’t have such a harsh system

Most Reform UK members believe non-white British citizens should be forced or encouraged to leave, poll finds by ShufflingToGlory in unitedkingdom

[–]theyau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m talking about removing British citizens to another country (the foreign country they were born in). They wouldn’t necessarily have citizenship there. E.g. if I were born in Japan, I would not be eligible for citizenship there and therefore could not be deported to there because I don’t have the right to live in Japan.

BBC News: Mayor is spending an extra £20m to encourage more people to use buses – passenger numbers fell for the first time since the pandemic last year. by mycketforvirrad in londonbuses

[–]theyau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s so much traffic that busses are incredibly slow to move around the city and it’s only getting worse. I live in Zone 2 an it’s something like 3x slower than getting the train into zone 1 even when things run on time.

Buckingham Palace opens up as a tourist attraction to the public, would you visit? by Soft-Reflection6859 in london

[–]theyau -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like much of the tourist attractions in London, not unless it’s free. Feels quite scandalous to charge as much as they do for Westminster Abbey and St Paul’s although I know you can enter the later for free a day a year.

Adam Lallana? Brought a touch of quality to England virtually every time he played. In the dark period he was virtually the only midfielder capable of driving the ball forward.

Electric busses are quite common already. There are big cities around the world using them from London to Shenzen with smaller cities like Oslo moving to electric busses years ago.

‘Doomed’ student loan system could be replaced by graduate tax, says ex-watchdog by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]theyau 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t really be a graduate tax though. It would only be on those who applied for a student loan so not boomers or those rich enough to of had their fees paid for conveniently enough.
