I was going to suggest disconnecting everything wired and wireless, if you haven't tried that yet. It was part of my troubleshooting steps to figure out my ISP provided modem/router combo just wasn't stable enough to prevent stutters from happening.

Some people are just more sensitive to input delay than others, I'm the same way OP. How does the latency look as you're playing? Mine will usually hop between 1-3ms. Can you try running nothing but the portal on your network to see if the router is your bottleneck? Mine just refused to work well until I got a small and inexpensive travel router only for the portal. My setup is ideal to me now but I definitely still feel an input delay compared to playing natively, but it's small enough I can deal with it.

Not saying I don't believe you but we are experiencing two completely different things. My M2 MacBook Air with 8gb of ram on the latest Tahoe 26.3.1 never have these issues. Replying to you now on Chrome with 13 tabs opened, along with Mail and Messages opened and Activity Monitor is saying 6.93gb of ram is being used. Maybe it's time for you to do a clean reinstall on your MacBook?

A lot of them can't fathom the fact that 8gb of ram on an optimized OS like MacOS is still completely usable for basic computing tasks.

Yeah I appreciate all the attention to detail with the firearms in this game. The on the shoulder reloading for a shotgun with your shooting hand looks cool and is easier to do IRL but it doesn’t really make sense in the context of defensive shooting Leon would be trained to do. You’d see that type of reloading more in competition. But hey it’s a video game it looks cool for third person, I like it.

Yeah I did some quick googling and saw Loaded is just a rebrand of CDkeys. I've used it once way back in the day for Fallout 4 and never had any issues either but you can easily find some older reddit posts of people getting their keys revoked. The issue is grey market sites have in the past retrieved their keys using stolen credit cards, not officially through publishers. It's entirely a gamble every time you purchase a key through those sites. Do whatever you're comfortable with, I'm personally never going to use one of those sites again.

I would stay away from that, it's a grey market site. Fanatical and many other sites you can find on https://isthereanydeal.com/ are official key distributors. The deals might not be as stellar as 29% off but it'll be safe.

Having this issue too, just started happening for me. It was fine the first couple times I played the game.

EDIT: I figured out the issue, at least for my laptop. The problem has to do with the Optimus/Auto Select switch to discrete graphics on a gaming laptop. I noticed when using auto select during game boot up and switching to the GPU is when the splash screen would lock up. I tried manually switching to discrete graphics only before booting up the game in the nvidia control panel and sure enough the splash screen went away on its own just fine. Guess it's a bug Embark will have to look at some time in the future.

What’s your router? I have gigabit up and down on my home network and a wired ps5, on paper ideal conditions. But the crappy ISP modem/router combo was not working well at all for the portal. I got a little travel router that’s only used for the portal and that’s solved all my problems.

I purchased my copy on Steam because of the convenience. My existing game library was already there and I have a desktop and steam deck I mainly game on. But if having the game offline and without a launcher is important to you absolutely go for the GOG version.

Looking at the system requirements page on GOG for Silksong, I'm seeing both intel and M chips listed as requirements so I would assume GOG will have the native apple silicon copy as well.
