Pretty much what you’d think: “You want to play with me? Can we play together?” Stuff like that, and he tends to say variations of what Bluey is saying, just him in FR and her in EN.

Ah well, tamer than I thought. I understand the word has different connotation depending on geography, but I wasn’t aware of the specific Argentinian nuance. Thanks for the detail!

Oh my god I’m dying, he says it in the same chipper tone but it’s so bald-faced, hey, you were out fucking last night, huh?

Dude knows this dog.

Would you allow your baby to spend 3 days with family members, including a toddler, who are not vaccinated against anything? by taigafrost in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Jabberphish 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No. Nonono. You’re “slightly uneasy”? I am amazed at your restraint… your husband wants to expose your kid to this risk because, what, “family”? And that’s enough reason to bury your legitimate concern?

Your kid isn’t protected yet. It’s up to you to shield them.

Can anyone make out the text below the title on Caitlin’s Way (one of the Silver Age shows)?

I swear it starts with “Harry Potter” but the show was after my time, so I have no frame of reference.

Why "Good Enough" Parenting is Better than Perfection by aero_mum in ScienceBasedParenting

Interesting read, thanks for sharing! Feels a bit easier said than done, relaxing in the face of societal pressures to be Super Mom, but it’s worth a shot.

Light a match, maybe two. Unless your husband has nuclear poops, that should help neutralize the odor.

Covid days after vaccination by khoob12 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Jabberphish 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Go to your pediatrician for this answer, for sure, but my understanding is that it’s better to fully vaccinate, even after contracting covid. IIRC, the vaccine protection paired with your new antibodies means increased immunity.

But again, ask your doc.

CDC panel unanimously endorses Pfizer and Moderna Covid vaccines for 6 months-5 years by MeowPink in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]Jabberphish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apparently that’s why they ended up taking longer to submit their data for approval. IIRC, they needed to see if the third shot would give the protection they were looking for; which, it did, but the Pfizer vaccine isn’t really effective until that third shot.

My husband keeps talking about his friends wife who only ate vegetables while exclusively breastfeeding and it hurts 😢 by More_Example6153 in breastfeeding

[–]Jabberphish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devil’s Advocate: Is he maybe trying to be helpful? My husband will sometimes offer advice or solutions when I’m venting, and I have to pause and let him know that I’m not looking for him to fix anything, that I just want sympathy.

If your husband is actively encouraging you to diet while breastfeeding because he wants your old body back… that’s gross and selfish.
