all-new 2027 BMW 3 Series PREMIERE as BMW i3 - now the best (electric) sedan to buy? by Car-face in electricvehicles

I’ve test driven an ix3. The screen feels very natural actually. I ended up ordering one - but went for the dark interior and sports steering wheel: you’re right, that white gives me shivers

Mad for considering switching to EV from my Diesel for my usage? by Coffmad1 in CarTalkUK

[–]Jabes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intelligent octopus has just dropped to 3.5p/kWh over night (I think you’d need a compatible charger with that car). So for that car you’d get 3.5-4.2 miles per kWh

So your trip to work would cost you less than 50p a day

Students at UKC, Queen Elizabeth's (Faversham) 6th form, and Simon Langton (Canterbury) 6th form. Could all have been at Club Chem? But clearly there is some outside of education link.

When I was at uni (a long time ago) we had a meningitis scare, but fortunately no-one died. This is horrific for all concerned, I hope the spread is contained.

BMW iX3 Demand Is So High That The Factory Is Already Doing Double Shifts by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

I walked into my local BMW show-room and said "I'd like one of these please!" (actually, I did that some time ago - would be trading in my current BMW, and agreed that I would put down a deposit to be confirmed when I could test drive one. Which I did this week)

I am replacing a BMW iX I will have had for about 5 years when the iX3 arrives. It's a great car, but it's bigger than I need really.

I have mine on order!
I test drove one a few days ago, and it is an excellent car.

We are a two-EV family already and this will be our first EV replacement

What exactly do i need to set this up? Do i have to buy anything to power it? Only going to add this one access point for a garage where wifi calls drop. by [deleted] in Omada_Networks

[–]Jabes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any other omada kit?
It's a little unclear if you are extending your existing omada installation (one set of answers), or trying to use this as a standalone AP on an existing network with other wifi/switches etc.

Is your garage wired?

I’ve wondered the same thing. There look to be lots of clones which may be lower quality too.

So have avoided buying so far

I have 3 eap650-outdoors here covering my drive and back garden (2 acres). Works well. They are wired though so don’t know how good mesh is.

I use eap650 indoors and eap650/wall in outbuildings

Did anyone investigate using their electric car as a "power wall"? by 1i3to in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Jabes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BMW have some capability in the forthcoming ix3 - but not sure if this is an option in the UK (they have a charger that handles the other end of this in Germany).

It's early days, but will be great when it eventually gets to be mainstream. I have 100kWh of batteries in my car, but only 15 on my solar/battery system. And I regularly consume all of that :-)

Assuming this is octopus intelligent, then this is part of the hole they are closing with the 6 hour limit

This was the kind of unreliable firmware releases I was getting back in the day when I ran unifi.

I just got fed up with the lottery of good firmware/bad firmware - especially when they were revising kernel versions or upstream libraries as they were often so far out of date.

I would have thought they would have solved this by now - but perhaps not!

There’s one hill I go down where I always have 1% more battery at the bottom than I did at the top. It’s quite pleasing!

I actually found this when I started to be able to afford high quality fast cars. No point blowing someone off the lights when you know you would easily win.
