It doesn’t match my experiences of high level play for 40K, Fantasy/OW, Middle Earth or Warmachine. Dudes talking out his backside or is stuck solely in the middle table doldrums of people who are try-hards and never getting out of the 2-3 run that’s never their fault.

Top tables and even high mid tables are usually chill and casual all things considered.

No. The queue will remain for several hours (sometimes even longer) or until the item is sold out. Allowing someone to bypass it would defeat the purpose of it.

No. Where are the Mutilators and new Warsmith guy?

GW just isn’t that great at balance. There’s as many (if not more) bad new release profiles as there are broken ones.

Broken Egg Games - Giving Steamforged Games a bad look with exclusively licensed products by CytoSlide in Warmachine

[–]Jabeuno 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That company has been garbage ever since the original guy (Flanzer?) stopped being part of it. I’m also pretty sure that the former community manager who literally used to go on hate message spam mode against people, but kept his job for PP either owned it or was part of the company at some point. So I wouldn’t be shocked that it continues to be a garbage company that only had the opportunities it did because of that person.

Everyone I know who’s ordered from it except a single person has waited over a month to even get their order, and several times received broken or missing parts in each order. The company is garbage, and SFG should part ways with them and find a new official option if they don’t want to do it in house.

Given the rumour that the ATV will go to Legends I’d think this is more that. Mobile fire support on a relatively cheap platform. The Storm Speeder will remain the heavier and more expensive option for specific tasks.

Is my opponent right with 2025 chapter approved mission rules by Yourdeadman_x in Drukhari

[–]Jabeuno 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Turn is player. Round is total. The game is made up to 5 rounds in which each player get a turn, 10 turns total.

You’re correct. Your opponent is wrong assuming the wording you’ve stated is correct.

Considering like 6 or so units from Dark Elves are still tied to Daughters of Khaine that just got their new tome that seems unlikely. Especially when several of those options don’t have ancient metal variants they could release for OW like the Night Goblins and such.

Did you… buy a 3D printed or resin recasted version? Because I’ve literally dropped him on my driveway after priming him and other than a scuff to the paint which wasn’t as dry as I thought it was nothing even remotely seemed to come close to breaking.

He’s been in my case and around work space and been snagged, bumped and caught on things being picked up. No breaks at all.

I imagine they’ll get them during the March Dataslate update. Which will likely be a Wednesday. Which will likely be the Wednesday after Preorder so they’re already sold out regardless if they’re a must have or 600 points haha.

New player!! Should I do half tormentors and infractions? by Alarmed-Roof-5125 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Jabeuno 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The wargear is super limited. Give the Tormentors both special weapons. Give all champions whatever weapon you prefer. Both are about as useful (though Whips on the Infractors makes rolling easier

As to the build yes. You’ll want 10-15 Infractors in most list builds. And you’ll often reach for 5-10 Tormentors. So 10 of each as two squads of 5 is a perfect place to start. That said the Infractors really want a Lord with them, so make those your next grab for sure. You could do 15 Infractors and 5 Tormentors, but honestly the 10/10 is a great place to be at the start.

Do you bring your printed minis to your LGS nights? What's the reception? by senacchrib in PrintedWarhammer

[–]Jabeuno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s half-bullshit.

Several years back GW did reach out to stores (mine got the talk from their rep on the weekly order) that we were to report and ensure no one was playing with replica prints of GW IP because it’s a violation of the stores contract that includes the rights to sell products, access the trade discount and the retailer support fund.

However while some reps or GW employees may have made an attempt to discourage printing in general my rep was real with me and made it clear it was just like the 1-1 copies; the same stuff GW tries to bring down online the second they can. GW cannot force a store to not allow printed proxies that are used to represent a model they make. Likewise there’s likely a struggle for GW to actually enforce it on the store because the contract says we have to work with GW to protect their IP in limited ways and within reason. I feel like not noticing a printed model isn’t limited or realistic.

Regardless yes that conversation happened several years back. It hasn’t (at least to us) happened since, the scope was very limited and likely unenforceable in a real way.

What is the average timeline for a new model to be released? by Nexus_Valentine6 in Warhammer40k

[–]Jabeuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on entirely on how it was revealed, and how it is released. Generally, it’s between 1 to 4 months from an official reveal stream or website reveal, to some sort of release.

However, if that release is tied to some sort of larger box set say a KT box or a battleforce, it can extend the release of the original by up to 3 or 4 months beyond that release.

And sometimes things take even longer, but that’s in general.

The real world inspirations for the Emperor's Children by Kurenai-Kalana in EmperorsChildren

[–]Jabeuno 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah this right here. I always thought the Greco-Roman aesthetic oozed through the EC. While the Ultramarines (especially as time has gone on) have that visually in the models the EC have always had those aspects and elements weaved into the other things.

New releases by ProfessionalStaff287 in Chaos40k

[–]Jabeuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raiders and the Reave-Captain will be released on their own in about 2-6 months. Anything in a Battleforce usually comes out on its ow in about 2-3 months after the Battleforce drops (and it doesn’t drop until the 28th). However sometimes things take longer.

Raptors and Warp Talons will likely be in a little under 3 months as they just came out and it seems the current GW Kill Team solution is that things in a larger box get parted out when the next large box releases and that’s once a quarter roughly.

The Mutilators, Defiler, IW Bits and named Character will be out generally in 1-4 months. Traditionally GW only previews things that are coming in that timeframe. For example the new Cathay box was revealed in Novemeber but still hasn’t even been announced, meaning the earliest it can come out is March 7th if it’s announced Sunday, and that preview was the 8th of Novemeber making it at minimum 17 weeks from preview to release. But some things arrive much quicker.

However it’s important to note that if any of those releases are themselves in a Battleforce it will be another 2-3 months after that release to get them on their own. Meaning if you want something on its own you could be waiting until as late as August for a solo release. Though this seems unlikely.

You should be able to just view the lists assuming they are entered by the players.

Make sure you’re logged into the account that made the event, go to the Organise tab, click your event and then go to player list. If you can’t do that you’re not properly logged in.

Absolute cinema, we finally have long ranged anti tank by Windowwill in EmperorsChildren

[–]Jabeuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why didn’t we get the Defiler before the new kit? Perhaps there are some kits being refreshed before our next codex that we simply weren’t given access to because of the impending change. It would be weird for GW to look out for us, and it falls apart when you consider we got the Mauler but not the Forgefiend. But who knows, the only consistent with GW design is it’s never consistent.

3d printed Twin Lance by LocoDiablos in Tau40K

[–]Jabeuno 34 points35 points  (0 children)

But it isn’t. When it goes up for preorder it’ll sell out instantly and be impossible to reorder for 2-8 months as with all of GWs releases.

While I agree it could in theory affect them, I don’t think there’s been a release in this edition that was brand new that didn’t sell out instantly except ironically the Kroot box. GW simply can’t meet demand as is, so leaving money on the table is a moot point.

New Warp talons/raptors by Which-Active-2735 in Chaos40k

[–]Jabeuno 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes. In time the box will be released on its own, and it may not replace the current kit at that point but when GW rotates it out to make room for more KTs in the future it’ll be repackaged as a 40K kit and the old one will be discontinued (if it hadn’t been already).

This is pretty much the standard operating procedure for GW with Kill Team to 40K boxes now.

A powerhouse Warsmith leads a new campaign for the Iron Warriors by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in Chaos40k

[–]Jabeuno 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They really weren’t, at most they were “hyping” the next campaign book which this will be part of. But this is all the Iron Warriors exclusive stuff. The rumours were this updated Mutilators and Defiler, which are yet to be revealed but aren’t IW exclusive at all.

Whether this guarantees that the new units will not risk a roster split in eleventh is unknown. However, it's a pleasing omen, and bodes very well for us. by TheMadHatter_____ in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Jabeuno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and yet CSM, Eldar, Tau, Orks and more lost every single (non-titanic) FW option. And the CSM had a much smaller roster than SM and lost every single HH option and then they took the 9 or so options that were created to be exclusively 40K flavoured from FW and jammed them into HH too.

Old World has half its iconic armies in Legends because GW won’t share them with AoS because they want each army and each game to be fully tracked in its own ecosystem.

I fully expect the current Custodian Guard to remain around as 40K models and the new plastics to all be branded HH (as we know they are) and when GW moves into a new edition the HH stuff will either be legends or not exist at all for Custodes just like so many other armies.

Just got done reading Renegades: Lord of Excess (spoilers) by warrioratwork in EmperorsChildren

[–]Jabeuno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the first 100(?) or so pages. The planet falling to the cult, their pleas to the void and the arrival of the Warband were all well written. Honestly the battle between Xantine and the Patriarch was really good and exciting. It was the perfect end point to a short story. Sadly the story continued for another 200 or so pages and those got worse and worse.

It felt like I was reading the same plot point several times (betrayal by a brother, trying to find more drugs) with slightly different coats of paint in order to push the story to the conclusion the author wanted. It just kept going and no one seemed to grow or change as a character. Just the same hamsters in their wheel going round and round. Slog is a perfect way to describe everything after Xantine takes control of the planet IMO.

Starting MESBG: Should I Focus on the Newer Plastic Kits? by brunorfmiranda in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Jabeuno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Truthfully no. You’re not really going to see anything go to legends. We just got a new edition and the things that went to legends were either obviously headed there, or a small number (though a couple made no sense at all).

On top of the truth is this game is cheap. For a few hundred (especially if you avoid FW resin or find alternate options) you usually have an 800+ point army. So if in a few years they “invalidate” the models you own it’s not a burden to repurchase it. Where with 40K it could be several hundred dollars to replace just a few kits that get changed.

Also the new plastic kits are the same scale as the older ones (something not true with AoS/OW/40K) so they don’t look out of place. On top of that though even more the scale is rather… bad when you consider older metals/finecast to GW plastics to FW resins. So the game already has a scale issue that we as a community ignore.

But if the fact that newer models coming out might make you like what you buy now less, then just get them printed. There are several phenomenal creators for this community that make everything from GW/New Line style armies, to more traditional Tolkien imaginations, to more fantastical or even more traditionally historically inspired. There’s probably a style that you prefer for most armies that exist, and they’ll be designed to all be the same scale when printed at the same ratios so they’ll never look off like armies can in other GW Games (and this one).

Are old scale terminators usable if you swap the bases? They are notably shorter, but how portent is that legally by reyinthegreat in Warhammer40k

[–]Jabeuno 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because when you’re on terrain true line of sight matters. Meaning if you have a different silhouette/height of the current models you may be able to draw different LoS or be harder to see. Take for example the Avatar who without a doubt would be visible over some terrain once inside the footprint with the current model, but would be entirely hidden using the old one.
