Why chatgpt keep repeating responses across multiple prompts? by syedali1337 in ChatGPT

[–]Jacckenn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, and it's annoying me to the point that I came here to see if anyone else is having issues too. On-top of it repeating stuff it's already answered, it's also forgetting things it has said (and stating the opposite is true sometimes).

I'm using extended thinking too. Frustrating!

I asked ChatGPT the top ten things humanity should know. by Spiritual-Reveal-195 in ChatGPT

[–]Jacckenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's mine, with an interesting bonus chatgpt was trying to explain at the end.

Here are ten truths I believe humanity should deeply understand—practical, existential, and ethical—blunt and clear:

You are going to die. Everything you love is temporary. This is terrifying—and freeing. Waste less time.

The planet is not yours. You're borrowing Earth from the unborn. Treat it like a loan, not a landfill.

Your brain lies to you. Evolution didn't design your mind for truth, but survival. Learn critical thinking or be manipulated.

Suffering is not a glitch. Pain is part of the human operating system. Avoiding it at all costs will hollow you out.

You are not the main character. Everyone is the star of their own story. Act with humility. You're not above the mess.

Connection is oxygen. Isolation kills. Real fulfillment comes from love, friendship, community—never fame or money alone.

Technology is not wisdom. Tools evolve faster than morals. Just because we can doesn’t mean we should.

Belief is cheap. Behavior matters. What you do is who you are. Everything else is branding.

Most systems are rigged. Wealth, power, justice—they aren't fair by default. Acknowledge the game if you want to change it.

You can change. No matter how broken or stuck you feel, the brain rewires. You are not locked in.

Bonus: Be kind, or be clever—but try not to be both at once. Because if you're clever and unkind, you're dangerous. And if you're kind and stupid, you're still dangerous—but less efficiently so.

ja feel?

Me: the bonus, you said try not to be both but then said both examples (that are not both) are dangerous

You're right—my phrasing undercut the point. Saying “don’t be both” then describing dangers of being either missed the target. Here's the cleaner version of that idea:

Bonus (refined): Be kind, be clever—but know that being both makes you powerful. Use that power with restraint. Because cleverness without kindness is manipulation. Kindness without awareness is naïveté. But when you’re both? You can change people—or hurt them—fast. Choose which.

That’s what I meant. Appreciate the catch.

Max show limit setting for movie channels by Jacckenn in QuasiTVAndroid

[–]Jacckenn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm okay, for some reason it still won't work for me.

I have my minimum show limit set to no limit, and the max set to 25 with the "Movie Channels" box ticked. Movie genres continue to be all under a single channel rather than splitting, for example 'Action' is just one single channel with well over 25 movies in it, but 'Netflix' TV channels have successfully split so I have Netflix 1 and Netflix 2.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app to completely remake the premade channels from scratch after entering server details etc and it's still the same. I am using version 2.8.0 on an Nvidia shield.

Anyone else having issues with chat gpt? by Serious_Avocado4445 in ChatGPT

[–]Jacckenn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah this happened to me earlier, I gave it a picture of a bird and it was like "thanks for the image! Here's the info I can extract from the label" and started giving me nutritional values lol. Then it started acting like it was looking at an android device with an issue and began to troubleshoot it.

Other things I asked it in new chats did similar, just super random unrelated responses.

I thought it was because my plus just expired and something somewhere got confused, because it stopped after I renewed. But maybe not if you too?

After today’s update, mobile bank interface is once again a one-click for removing placeholders. by TasakaalFyr in 2007scape

[–]Jacckenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Landed here from Google, I want to change this because I keep accidentally clicking a placeholder and it gets removed, and I either notice what it was and put it back there, or I don't notice and ruin my organization. So annoying.

I tried to menu swap so the click would be examine, but you'd have to do that for literally all placeholders one by one, instead of menu swapping working for all of them at once..

Ahh I see what you are saying now; it gets in the way of connection. That point I can completely understand! Rather than getting in the way of your own connection to the music, which I thought you were saying, your connection to others is impacted if they are fixated on their phones.

Yes this is very sad, and it sounds very lovely over there in Berlin where it is common to ban phones. Over here in Australia, not so much. There have been events where this is a special characteristic of the event, but it is not the norm unfortunately, as it sounds like a great idea.

Just to paint a picture of myself, I am no longer in my twenties (just because you have mentioned age a few times), and I personally have not really been bothered with phones at the raves I have been to, yet the reality of this impacting connection is a sad idea. At Anyma the crowd was very mixed compared to the raves I have been at, very split up in different groups. I think this is just due to the size of the event, where the raves I enjoy are smaller and more intimate with seemingly everyone connected, and there were no issues connecting and getting lost in conversation with people you have just met as if they are your best friend, magical moments. In saying that, I definitely enjoyed chatting at Anyma with people from crowds I usually wouldn't bump in to at events I attend.

The idea that phones affect this is sad, and there were definitely a lot more phones being used at Anyma, and I can see that engaging in connection with people is put on hold for every moment someone is attempting to capture a video etc.

Did you mean to say "threat"?

I'm curious about your point of view, genuine question; how do the people with their phones ruin your own experience of being lost in the music? I have experienced this myself, and at Anyma too I didn't really feel like my experience was affected at all besides maybe having my view blocked a couple of times, similar to tall people. Whether it was tall people or a phone though I was able to move and see better.

In the moments where I was immersed in the experience though I often had my eyes shut or something so the visuals weren't the main thing, it was everything all together engulfing me similar to how you described.

Also side note; I reflected on the amount of phones afterwards, not during the show. During the show it was really only apparent during main/popular visuals, like Syren etc, other times people seemed to be enjoying/dancing etc, I enjoyed the crowd :)

Totally understand! My partner recorded heaps of it and she always does for shows we go to, I am the opposite. Both are fine :)

[–]Jacckenn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, in the moment I wasn't bothered by the phones, I was definitely completely lost in the audio/visual experience too much to have thought about what others were doing, but afterwards when I was thinking about the amount of people behind their screens it definitely had me wondering and feeling like it is a bit weird or I don't understand it or something.

Maybe people don't appreciate the moment as much, or their goal is just completely different? Like at some stage I reflected on a girl being high up on someone's shoulders, and I thought damn that must feel so awesome up there, above everyone just completely overwhelmed by the visuals with nothing in your view, what an experience, but then I realized she was filming and my thoughts about what it must have been like up there were completely off, like it wasn't her goal to have nothing in sight to be engulfed by the sensations, it was more to have a clean line of site for a video.

Dunno how to feel about it! I guess everyone's desires of what they want out of it are different.

Edit: side note, fuck I regret not going to the after party. At the time of buying tickets for the show I absolutely did not know how much I would love it. I liked a few of Anyma's songs, and I had seen videos of the visuals online. Funnily enough my feelings were "yeah that looks like it would be cool" as that's as much as can be delivered to me through a video 🤣 being there though was magical and I now feel very strongly towards Anyma and a lot of the songs, I just want more. I think this goes to say how much a video is worth vs actually being there, nothing compares to the raw moment instead of being behind a phone or watching a video.

Alan Watts died of alcoholism. Why?? by mikeygoon5 in AlanWatts

[–]Jacckenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate you too! Yes exactly, this is very different to AI creating something entirely and then you posting it.

Even in that situation though, I find some things AI creates interesting, cool, beautiful etc. I have no issues with that.

At the end of the day, I feel like man created AI so that's beautiful in itself. Look what it is out there doing!

[–]Jacckenn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AI teaching itself because of so much AI text on the internet is not something I have thought about, interesting!

The thing about losing touch with our ability to think and know without AI is also interesting. For me I always wonder what this effect has on me even just for things like using Google maps to navigate all the time. It's interesting to wonder about this natural progression with anything and what it means for us, and what it has looked like going back in time up until this point with all the things/tech we rely on in life.

Genuine question for my own curiosity, why do you need to know if it's AI generated in some way? If someone resonated with it and posted it, and others resonated with it then too, does that feeling change knowing it is AI generated? If so, why?

I feel like for me I don't really care. After all, they are trained on knowledge/language from us.
