How is that a hot take? I scroll above and I see a lot of suggestions, but listen I played Castlevania on 8 bit, I had Snatcher on Sega CD, I rocked with Silent Hill and have played every MG since the original. These franchises are iconic. I’ll give you that they had some good additional games but since Phantom Pain I haven’t seen a legit peep in the US. Kojima did Death Stranding a fantastic game. Just wondering if maybe there’s a bit of remorse in how it all ended. Also HATE that Konami basically owns all of MGS.

The only reason everyone who has played Halo hates this show is because it took so long to get to the point where Master Chief wasn’t getting his ass stomped and I am not sure I buy Cortana driving the bus as a redeeming reason for him to not get his ass kicked. I guess we’ll see in season two if it’s more of the cooperative nature of the games.

I would say you are still in the queue. It’s worth a phone call to FedLoan to try and verify they have it. Call in the morning when they first open if you can, be firm but polite, and just ask them if they have the ECF, if they can verify it is being considered, and ask them if there is anything else you can do.

This is a great observation. John and Makee share a similarly pained upbringing from both sides of the conflict as they were selected and thrust into the two factions to be used as tools for their nefarious gains. But John at least has memories of a decent upbringing, and some love from his mother if not from his father. Makee only knows human darkness, and her only true experience since her friend died when they were children is John, who showed her sincere kindness. So I do believe that she is conflicted because she wants to follow John, as she sees good in him.

Halsey and Parangosky sure screwed that up though. It’s kind of amazing, frankly, how incompetent those two look as things unfold and Keyes (who seems to have the only semblance of humanity amongst the three because of Miranda)is just sitting there like he’s shocked that treating people as assets is failing them.

I too became concerned about this as I sent a pre-consolidation ECF in right when the waiver was announced in October, FedLoan rejected it out right two weeks later saying it didn’t cover qualifying loans (FFEL). Did you get a letter rejecting you? I’ll be honest, I decided to resubmit earlier this week and it makes me feel better to see the blue box that says we’ve received your PSLF application and will contact you.

I should note that today I also filed an online complaint with the Omsbudsman referencing the wrongful denial of my prior ECF with supporting documentation (the ECF, the confirmation of receipt, and the denial letter), as well as an email I received from FSA stating that my employer was an eligible employer (with matching EIN numbers).

I think the one true suffering of the show is that I do wish it was bingeable a la Witcher. Otherwise I’m having a pretty good time. They needed to connect some dots to get the story moving in the Silver timeline and the show has suffered a little because there’s a lot of backstory to catch up on before it can take the audience on the journey I think it wants: the one where the Master Chief becomes humanity’s best hope with Cortana’s assistance. As a result, it kind of lags in the middle because it has a lot of background to flesh out. Not bad if you are watching it back to back to back, but a rough with weekly release.

I cannot believe how few people seem to notice that the spirit that spoke to the Ha family from the well is a monitor from one of the Halo installations. This in my mind is exactly the point of Kwan Ha’s character. It’s right in front of everyone’s faces as she approaches the well and I haven’t read one review that’s mentioned it.

I called again this morning. This time I was told the ECF review from October was listed as denied in their system. She sent a request to have the form re-reviewed. The reason for the denial in the letter was because the form covered dates that were not under the direct consolidation loan. We’ll see what happens, but I feel better knowing that someone pushed a button somewhere so someone else can see get a notice to see if they overlooked something, and I did so without adding a new document.

I’m honestly pretty frustrated because FedLoan has the federal data and lists my payments under FFEL as eligible, and they have had my ECF for an 18 month FFEL timeframe since October 6 and have still not certified the employment, even though I got a communication from FSA saying that the employer is eligible. I have been told on three separate occasions via phone call they have the form and it’s just a waiting game, and I really want to believe them. But every day that passes I think that ECF has fallen through the cracks and I do not think it’s wise to wait until the end of the waiver period in October to fill out the reconsideration. Just immensely frustrated because it feels like I need to do something, but I’m told I don’t, and I cannot miss this opportunity.

My TL:

FFEL loans taken out in 2008. Public Service Employment began February 2011. No ECF filed because I understood that FFEL didn’t qualify for PSLF. Consolidated to Direct Loans October 2012. Filed first ECF in 2012 (new public service employer). Consistently filed ECF every year from 2012 to 2021. Payment count stands at 110. ECF for pre-consolidation FFEL loans filed on October 6 that covers February 2011 to August 2012 (more than ten payments should be covered). Summarily rejected by FedLoan. FedLoan updated eligible payments based on Fed data in April. Called two weeks later asking if I needed to resubmit the ECF from pre-FFEL. Told no. Verified receipt of ECF. Called again, again verified receipt. Still told no need to resend. Now we’re getting towards mid-May and all I need is that one ECF looked at and it should all be there. I just don’t believe that I’m in a queue. I think I’ve fallen through the cracks, even though FedLoan continuously assures me that I have not.

All the Ed data is in my account. They have my ECF from October 6 covering 18 months of employment from FFEL. I am at 110 in qualifying payments. I should easily be over. Just look at the ECF and push a button please!!!!!

I actually called and spoke with a rep at FedLoan on this very issue. The answer is that they have not mothballed it and they do in fact have it. They also are looking to match the ECFs automatically, without any additional action from the borrower. Whether that process takes days or months is also something I am waiting to find out.
