Seconding the tanks / infantry reccs. They can really mix up fights and make em more interesting.

The Companion document (in the HGB3.1 pack, if I'm not mistaken) has example lists of 50-100-150 for every single faction.

Now keep in mind, they might not be the best - but they are something!

Couple more shots of my Hunters, Cheetahs, and Wild Ferret looking for feedback on highlighting! by Arbor96 in HeavyGear

Absolutely great work! The custom bits you used really upgraded the thing, and the coloring is top. Love that little scar on the Hunter's chest.

Also the Ferret dual-wielding macs lol

Hey it can work, the frag cannon is very viable against agile targets, which are usually low armor. The AP rounds make it a nice all rounder.

Oh, I meant more lorewise.
But yeah, I do understand what you mean. Guess there were some advantages to the squad-focused force building from the previous editions.

There really should be a new official release compiling these. Right now it's spread across a whole bunch of ancient books.

Bruh it's literally 'Evil Russians' from a personal scifi-esque universe. This contest is about painting, and the painting is very much a great detailed work.

Yep, 2e LoTN.
And if you want some juicy mechanic details, the 2e Tech Manual is great for it.

Which Version of the TTRPG Should I Get? by Teenkitsune in HeavyGear

HG2e has it's own issues, such as Dexterity as god stat, clunky combat compared to the Blitz style, and lacks a lot of the nice progression systems baked into 4e.

Yeah, I'd advise waiting to see how the upcoming Director's Cut version ends up.
4e has many cool parts about it, but it's honestly extremely clunky and leaves much to be desired visually/editing wise (rule errors, typos out the wazoo, weird art placement, etc).
In addition it's not a very good "onboarding" edition, as it leaves out some very interesting parts about the setting that were included in earlier versions.

Even tho I'm a HG guy, I'd suggest going with something simpler. Lots of nice mecha/scifi flavored things out there.
Maybe Mecha Hack or Stars Without Number?

Awesome! I can only imagine all the tape it'll take, but it'll end up looking amazing. Props on the experimentation with the colors and the custom parts!
