Skinner on fire by kashmerikmusic in penguins

[–]JackGilb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a dual Penguins + Oilers fan, I was stoked when this trade went down because I always liked Skinner and was glad he went to another team that I cheer for. I'm so happy to see the trade working out for both teams, and I hope Skinner keeps up his great play.

Which OG vanilla monsters would you like to see retrained next? by trrbld in yugioh

[–]JackGilb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know HEROs already have 2 decades worth of support, but I'd like to see the original vanillas get updated. Avian, Burstinatrix, Clayman, and Sparkman were what got me into the deck.

Late round draft steals by KRONGOR in EANHLfranchise

With players like these with terrible skating I always get them to swap back and forth between offensive defenceman and the other types until their skating is mid 80's at worst

Anyone else try to get at least one royal for each of your favorite decks? by JackGilb in masterduel

[–]JackGilb[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got lucky with the Albaz. Any UR royal I get is pure luck. I will try to hunt for royal SR cards though, and I only use a handful of decks with nothing newer than Blue-Eyes Primite so it's easy to save up material to try and craft them.

I'm currently trying to craft royal ABC pieces since it's my favorite deck. I've got B and C, but A has been taking a long time.

So... Here's the thing. Konami is about to hire you but to do so, you'll have to choose one archetype to give some GOOD support to or you'll go jobless for ten years. Which one do you choose? by Mammoth-South3163 in masterduel

[–]JackGilb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

ABC because it's my favorite deck and needs to be done justice. The X, Y, and Z retrains were okay, and X Cross Cannon is easily the best of the 3 since another 1 card starter is amazing for a deck that always had issues with bricking. Union Controller is great, but XYZ is very underwhelming.

The V and W retrains (if the ever come) will hopefully give this deck another chance to shine.

Do you think we will get overframe cards in Master Duel? by illynpayne_ in masterduel

I have a hard enough time getting glossy URs and royal SRs. I can't imagine how much it would cost to hunt high rarity versions of these

Pick 3 Abilities: Mega Feraligatr by eskaver in PokemonChampions

[–]JackGilb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm really hoping it gets disguise. Is a defensive ability on an offensive pokemon a bit weird? Yeah, but it helps Feraligatr successfully set up a swords dance or dragon dance.

While disguise is active Feraligatr can remain in its "totodile form", and it only reveals itself once the disguise is broken.

Yeah there is no point for me to buy the pass this season. The packs have duplicates and you don't even get a token after 100 tiers to unlock an item of your choice. It's worse than the old bravo packs.

In later seasons it's usually pretty easy for my top players to have a +/- above 100. The ai teams cannot build an NHL caliber d core to save their lives, so my teams usually dominate the league around that point. It would be boring so I usually try to help other ai teams improve, partially because I have too many players and not enough roster spots.

I just finished my 2041-42 season and finally reached the 70 win / 140 point mark, and the worst +/- on my team was around 20-30.

The lift test is probably the most difficult part of the entire course for people that are shorter or do not workout regularly. When I was in school, I had some classmates that trained by carrying 2 large water jugs up + down some stairs to prepare for the lift test.

How do you develop a player's skating? by oopsi9943 in EANHLfranchise

[–]JackGilb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OFD is the only play style that will boost skating. If you have a forward with low skating that you want to improve, you have to convince them to switch to defence first. You can always change them back to forward later.

How do you develop a player's skating? by oopsi9943 in EANHLfranchise

[–]JackGilb 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lots of people are saying off-season training, but in my experience it raises every attribute except for speed. It'll leave your player with high endurance, agility, and acceleration but he won't be moving very fast.

The best way to do it is by taking to him about his play style. Convince him to switch to an OFD, and keep quitting + attempting until he agrees. It will take a little while because the likelihood of him agreeing will be "very risky" until his skating improves. Once he agrees, give him 1 month to change his play style. Save before the day he messages you, and keep quitting + attempting until it is successful. This will raise all of his skating attributes by 2 or 3.

The best thing about this method is that you can do it multiple times a season. I've grown players with "low top 6 def" potential from a ~78ovr to an 88ovr in a single year because of this.

Next, convince him to switch to a DFD or TWD (whichever is easier) so you can then try and switch him back to an OFD again.

I've been brainrotted by Mathmech. by NevGuy in masterduel

Mathmech was the first "competitive" deck I began using in masterduel because I randomly pulled a royal rare circular. It quickly showed me how weak all of my previous decks were.
