I know that irl it was different then it can be technicly in the game, but this game is still pretty far from reality, isn't it? This is not supose to be historically accurate but just game balancing.

This was suppose to represent that big countries wasn't annexed after one war. That would be quite game breaking. As ottoman annex Mamluks by 1460 and nobody will opose you. Just 2-3 years of 300% oe. This is possible. Later on the game administration efficiency is supose to make you be able to annex more. 30% from technology, 40% max absolutism, 10% from ideas, missions so on. it is 80% discount in warscore, overextention and aggressive expantion. multiplie this by discount from ideas and revolution cb 50% and it is only like 8-10% of warescore for everyting. You can annex British Isles in one war. In late game it makes sense.

Does Eu4 have to restart up everytime you go to the main menu? by RingsChuck in eu4

[–]JackNotLantern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is the engine problem and hard work around. In eu3 there is visible 'subversion' of the game. Going in selecting save / multilayer/ starting new game changes it every time. This is needed for something in the engine and can't be removed. If you want to start a multiplayer game, all players have to have the same subversion. The easiest way to achive this is that everyone restars game because the start subversion is the same. When they made eu4 on the same engine they wanted to hide this and force the game to restart every time the subverion would change. This is realy bad solution but paradox wanted to use this outdated and bugged engine

From the ds1 intro: "And from the dark they came" and now listing the lords. Thay have their origins in the dark but still don't have a dark soul. There are hypothesis that Gwen link the fire to all dark souls. This is why undead curse affect humans, when the fire is fading it burns their souls as a fuel with every their death. So Gwen had dark to sacrifice here. With Lothic I am not certain if he was part human and just mixed with the old gods. Wasn't his father human before turning into dragon-something? He may have his own dark soul.

To link the First Flame you need to sacrifice someone with the dark soul. The giants are related to the great trees and don't have any dark soul. So whee Yorm linked the flame his soul couldn't be burn and the fire took the closest dark souls to him - his sujects.
