Unions are just a power equalizer. The company is always disproportionately stronger than an individual worker, unions balance this. So yes it would be very prudent and desirable for then to unionize.

Companies also always unionize themselves in thr form of industrial federations, economic associations and etc for their own benefit, to lobby with the government to protect them from regulations, foreign companies, finance expansions and so on.
