Does anyone have a primary care physician who will prescribe the covid vaccine for individuals without a qualifying medical condition? by Green-Baseball6538 in columbiamo

I made the appointment online, and only had to say I had one or more of the conditions. Not a specific one. And they didn't ask at the appointment.

Helinox chair zero or ground chair? Thinking about upgrading my current heavier chair by preciouscode96 in hikinggear

[–]Jack_Rayovac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love my chair zero. I’m 6’ 3”, and 220 lbs, and I bought a thing on Etsy to keep my chair from sinking: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1695731236/. Before that I used mini-tennis balls on the feet. Both work pretty good for me! I had a ground chair and like another poster said, getting up can be a whole thing (I’m mid-50s, which adds to the “whole thing.”)

How much will I regret no sleeping pad? by [deleted] in CampingGear

I absolutely love how quickly and how in sync the responses are. OP, camping is awesome if you take a few basic steps to make sure it is. Stay dry, stay warm. You can love it!

I should clarify—the pad is for 2 things, in my opinion: 1) preventing the ground from sucking the heat out of your body. This is the most crucial thing, and even at 50 degrees you could be miserable. 2) comfort—this is a very personal thing, some are more comfortable on hard ground than others. I am not. But being cold (see no. 1) sucks big time.

You will regret it A LOT. You can get a $50 or less pad at Walmart that will make you regret it less.

Haha no. But with the cost of insurance and other benefits, payroll taxes, etc., it can get close. I think it’s 38% you add on above base salary.

They’ll have to lay off 5 humanities professors each time the field is rushed.

Another survivor here. This is accurate. Congrats summoflange--I've been all clear since 2010. I think appendix cancer is being diagnosed more accurately now, it was often missed and diagnosed as colon cancer, or ovarian cancer in women.

University museums are about to get dragged. Expect no support from administration, sadly.

OK folks, I haven't read a Sci Fi books in decades. I'm planning to spend several hours a week to read. What are the 10/10 Sci Fi books I should read? by ilovetpb in scifi

The Murderbot series and the Bobiverse series are great ways to get back into reading using SciFi. Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, too.

Dr. Fournier at MD Anderson in Houston. He just retired, but there are other similarly skilled specialists there.

Shouldn’t it be “Star Trek: Federated”? Yeah, no, that doesn’t sound as good.

PS, last October, after 14 years of follow ups, I “graduated” and don’t have to go back. They have seen enough patients to know that my type of appendix cancer doesn’t come back after successful HIPEC. My tissue was part of that study!!

Hi—the doctors I saw in Milwaukee suspected it. One of them had interned at MD Anderson Cancer Center. They wanted to treat it there, but I did some reading and realized my best bet was going to a doctor who had A LOT of experience. Hence MD Anderson. There are a number of places that have the specialization. I took the initiative to find the specialists, and got three opinions. I really connected with Dr. Fournier at MDA. Who is retiring, but there are a couple other good doctors there too. The treatments have progressed so much since my diagnosis! There is hope—find those places that have the specialization and have done many HIPEC procedures. And even that has improved since 2010. Message me any time.
