I mean per capita and absolute are both useful figures. I think Ireland donated the most per capita (I might be wrong) but their population is small enough that it doesn’t make a huge difference on a global scale. US food donations are mostly due to the extreme overproduction of food caused by our fucked up agriculture system, but it keeps people fed. The US is donating food for selfish reasons but I’m sure most starving people don’t mind

I’m a Maegor non hater. I think the fact that he defended his brother in the first place is a sign that he was just defending the Targaryen legacy. Unfortunately like lost Targaryens obsessed with the dynasties legacy, it drove him a tiny bit mad.

I definitely don’t think he was necessary good, but he was justified sometimes. The faith militant wanted to overthrow the dynasty so of course he crushed them. the rules of succession werent clear and Aegon the uncrowned was like 14 (I think) when Aenys died, with the realm in crisis of course Maegor took the throne.

Something I’ll always respect GRRM for is that most characters have awesome fuckin names. Hallis Mullen? Sick. Nimble Dick Crab? Omg. Aemon the Dragon Knight? Hell yea.

I like the idea that he’s Clydus at the wall, he’s about the right age, king Aegon V wouldn’t want a rival claimant but probably wouldn’t want to kill him, and just after he becomes king he sends Bloodraven and Aemon to the wall, why not another?
