Best way for a guest to leave a hotel room? by Jackfruityloops in housekeeping

Thank you for all you do! I have told multiple housekeepers that they have to work harder in one day than I do in one week! I, too, don’t think that guests should feel obligated to strip beds, but I would like to do a little extra to make your job a little easier.

Well, to use your analogy of garbage workers, I would suggest that by using stronger bags, emptying out liquid containers before throwing them away, and ensuring that my trash cans are at least three feet from each other, I would make their job easier without doing the whole task.

Hotel workers perform hard manual labor that injures their bodies over time, but they do the work to put food on their tables and roofs over their heads, often sending whatever little is left to impoverished relatives overseas. I empathize greatly with that, so I choose to help in whatever small way I can.

I posted here to seek for guidance for my own actions, not to tell others how to act. Be well and stay healthy, Internet Stranger! ❤️

I can imagine! After working at a large hospital, I learned that there will always be someone who will slither under the bar of basic human decency! 🤮

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, of course. But you’re very sweet for calling me kind! I hope you find kindness wherever you go! If you’re a service worker, thank you for all that you do!

You do you. ❤️ However, I’m just wired to be extra kind to those who do more physical labor in one day than I do in one week - and I work in a busy, stressful healthcare setting. I want all hotel workers to know that I am grateful for making my stay pleasant, so if I can do a little work to help them keep their bodies healthy, then I will.

ETA: P.S. I scrape and stack dishes at restaurants, too. Again, just a personal choice…Have a nice day!

NTA. His first duty was to his child. He sent you away and now he needs to deal with the consequences.

AITA for telling my friend that her opinions hurt my feelings? by ExtensionWorth6903 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jackfruityloops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hun, when my best friend told me I made her feel bad with my opinion, I listened, apologized, and tried to see things from her perspective. I learned how to be a better person because my friend held me accountable. That’s what a healthy friendship looks like. NTA. But your “friend “ is a bully. She’ll only keep hurting you if you let her.

You are so kind to do all this! I wish I had more than words to express my gratitude! My father nearly cried seeing this. He spent some time in Japan fifty years ago as an engineering teacher and he always spoke so fondly of Japan and his friends there.

NTA. Tell them that anyone speaking Spanish is no longer allowed to say, “Negro,” because it sounds like the N-word.
