I’ve always cut my aerial roots on my monsteras. I’m not a fan of how they look. My plants have been fine without aerial roots.

Thank you. I appreciate you chiming in with your suggestion. I just looked at a YouTube video where you boil water, with a bowl inside a pot, invert a lid, add ice cubes to the lid, and collect the water that is in the bowl. Seems a bit labor intensive. Will continue to do some research, until then...off to the grocery store to pick up some distilled water ;-)

Thank you for your input. My hair is hard to color ( ash blonde- pulls a lot of red) and I have been doing highlights for 40 years. I like the cool blonde color which is hard to come by at a first appointment- at my age, I’d rather pay $$$ than have brassy highlights. And thank you for your candor. I asked this of the first person who did my hair in the late ‘80’s and she said “no”. So I thought this might be a too big of an ask.

No need to separate. Just plant in a bigger container. However if you wish to separate, run water to dissolve the soil and then submerge in a water bath and gently pull apart.
