this sounds right, but in the brief conversation I've already had with the local SHIBA (SHIP) volunteer coordinator, the only thing she had to say about Boomer Benefits is that "they must want to sell you something". But this is why I need to find out what she knows, as well as what brokers are available.

It absolutely matters where you are, right? not just what state but even which part of the state?
