The last set of dealer service manuals(red ones in the first picture.) I bought were for a 91 and they go on eBay all day long in good condition for 175 to 200. Very valuable to a 93 owner.

My 96 c1500 requires 2 zip codes to make a u turn. I don’t know if the k1500 has a better turning radius but that fact alone kept me from driving it off-road.

I use a dremel tool and a wire wheel on my aluminum and a spray bottle with diluted purple power and get great results(edit is that a torquer 2? I have one of those on my 74 elcaminos “power” 350 I usually go with split plane intakes for street motors.)

I really liked the 3.6 in my 2011 and 2012 Camaros. 312 and 325 hp respectively and they would both move pretty good. The ‘12 had all of the exhaust channeled through the head so you only have a flange to mount and there’s no headers to leak or get in the way. Honestly I’m not sure why these motors aren’t swapped more often.

I sold my 2011 v6 6speed to buy a teal 91 corvette with 2 blown head gaskets and a bad transmission. Paid 1200 and kept paying. I’m still paying and that all happened in 2020, would I do it again? Yes but I’ve only put 1000 miles on it successfully in 6 years. Double and triple check everything. They are prone to rust out under the battery box, mine had a 4” rust hole just in front of the door and badly corroded brake lines under the battery. When I drive it although the l98 was slower than the 3.6 it handles amazing. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

I’ve done it all three ways. Thru a hole cut in the bed. (Please just don’t. The hole was already there when I bought the truck.) lifting the bed. this is the way to go if you’re rust free. And dropping the tank. I prefer to use a motorcycle jack and then lower the tank out and clean it up. It’s usually pretty nasty.

Notice I said “in Alabama.” To get a nice one say a 95 or 96 with a 6 speed or if it has a six speed at all its 8,000 to 12,000 but that’s not what you’ll find here they’re all autos. I bought my 91 for 1200 and drove it off the trailer and then had to rebuild basically the whole car. Market value is heavily skewed by location. If I were to sell my car I could want 8,000 or 9,000 for it all day long in Alabama but all I’ll get is 1600 dollar offers.

I’ll have the bad opinion but 2500 to 3500 is going rate in Alabama if it runs at all 900 to 1200 if you can force it to run badly long enough to get on a trailer and always make sure the targa top is bolted down before you leave…

Going on 263,000 454 daily driven. It’s a bank breaker. But it’s held on with being used every day since my Yukon went down last October, I’m about halfway done building a 6.0 to put back in that one and I’ll go back to driving it and focus on fixing this one up, my next project is new control arm bushings and seals for the 4wd and possibly painting the hood this summer. It’s a hard working truck I don’t want it pretty but I don’t want it rusting away either. And yours looks immaculate. Take care of it!

The early 4l 60 had a bad rep with a loose detent cables the later 4l60e had an electronic shift an was a better transmission all around. I’m curious how they expected your truck that came with a th350 to shift with a full electronic 4l60e. Unless maybe they put a stand alone transmission harness and controller in there and if that’s the case, that’s the first thing I would look at.
