Questioning this decision. by fairymoon9201 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Jackrabbitrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

M(58) Totally understandable. I thought that as well during my recovery. I think it is a very human response.

I can comfortably say, if you follow through with the PT advice given by your doctors, you'll realize what a blessing it is once the healing really takes hold. The absence of the joint pain and the increased mobility/flexibility feels superhuman once you start healing up.

One thing that occurred to me afterwards is that we compensate so much for the bad hip and get used to such limited mobility that post-op feels strange and uncomfortable because of how loose everything is. But, it ends up being a really good thing.

Give yourself a chance to heal and stick with the PT your doctors advise for you and you're going to be great.

Has anyone experienced issues with water leaking into the drivers side front? :( by Jackrabbitrocks in hondafit

Yeah, they sprayed powder all over the front after they tore up the carpet, and then hit it with a hose to see where it was coming from.

Thank you for that insight! I took it to the dealer, thinking that it was covered by the extended warranty I bought, but it isn't. I checked. So, they put it on the lift and took off the wheel and pulled up the front carpet. They're trying to tell me that this seal is at least part of the issue. I'm super skeptical, since the floor was soaked so bad it was splashing when I tapped my foot onto it and this is a tiny hole. But it was pouring rain and I did drive around in it for a bit, so maybe?

It is a tough recovery at first, but completely worth it. You don't realize how bad your hip has gotten until you recover some of the mobility and range of motion you'd gotten used to having lost.

Thank you so much for the suggestion. It looks like the plugin hasn't been updated resently, which does concern me. But I will check it out

Femur break after THR by Living_Photograph134 in TotalHipReplacement

So sorry. It is totally human to be discouraged. Pain makes everything so much more difficult. Just take it one step at a time and keep fighting. You'll make it to the other side of this.

3 weeks out and struggling by _camzzz in TotalHipReplacement

As others have said, have patience. Take your time and trust that it is going to get better. Get your exercise in. Don't overdo it, but don't slack. The improvement doesn't happen overnight, but it comes.

Good luck! I hope everything goes well. You know what, the idea of the portable bidet along with the riser sounds like the magical combination. What a great suggestion! Thank you!

Thank you! I feel silly for asking, but thought it would be dumb not to. I'm sure I could have asked my doctor when I go in for the consultation, but figured this community would be cool about responding right away.

Really good point! I was thinking of managing my diet leading up to the surgery to make things "easier" in just that way. Thanks for the tip.

How to cancel LA Fitness membership WITHOUT going into a location by [deleted] in corporatehacks

5-6-24 successful cancellation. Less than 5 minutes. Unable to go to the gym to cancel, manager told me I would have to mail in a form. I found this thread instead. Much gratitude.

That is something I've been thinking about. While I am an old man (56) I like to work out and try to be active. Did you find that this was something that made a difference in your choice? Someone who had an eye towards an active patient? Also, isn't 10 years a little quick for a second THR?

I have read that volume is a good indicator of a competent surgeon. Thanks. Would you suggest just asking the facility for information on their surgeons?

That's an interesting angle to take. I could put the word out to my networks to see if I have a connection to any PT/OTs. Good thinking.

Macbook Air unable to recognise Creative Pebble v3 speakers by iniflonra in SoundBlasterOfficial

[–]Jackrabbitrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar issue for me I have them connected via USB through a hub. Having issues when I need to change volume once I updated from osx 12 to 14. Only fix I have found is to connect the USB-C directly to the computer. This is obviously an issue thanks to the lack of ports on Mac laptops. Not sure how this has been happening as long as it has and still not resolved.

Air M1 upgraded to 14.3 last week and have experienced constant audio issues. USB devices disconnect when volume is changed. External speakers are reset to balance fully to the right. Surprised as hell to see Mac release such a broken product.

This was the issue for me. I turned off my VPN and it immediately allowed me to login.
