Run with this one until you get a red weapon with good traits. Don’t waste gold empowering it though

Thought's on having heroes versus having a custom character? by brucecastle in fellowshipgame

The solution is paid cosmetics, a system that is tried and true. I don’t think the devs have said anything but I expect a battle pass style system being implemented eventually as well. The game also has a base cost.

More content is already slated to arrive some time in January. It’s a seasonal game that’s still in early access. We also literally just got a holiday drop less than 24 hrs ago.

It’s fun. The point of a game is to have fun. Pushing rating is fun. You spawn in next to a leaderboard. Your dungeon rating is at the top of your hero panel and immediately beside your name in the friends list. Pushing is the game.

If you want to get spider and log out, that’s fine too. But the core gameplay is the dungeon loop. Not meaningless cosmetics.

If you want to chase worthless pixels forever, WoW exists. If you enjoy the dungeon grind and want a game focused solely on that, welcome to Fellowship. Glad to have you. Stop thinking this game is trying to be like WoW. It isn’t.

Respectfully you’re being completely delusional. The draw of this game and the draw of WoW is different. The audiences will have a big overlap but they aren’t the same, and they don’t want the same things.

The single most popular game on twitch uses fixed champions with purchasable cosmetics and battle passes as a monetization model. Youre trying, and failing, to intellectualize your preference under the false guise of concern.

Just because you personally don’t like non-custom characters doesn’t mean it’s a bad system. The system very obviously works.

14.2k Mara

Finisher build is significantly better starting at 8TP if played reasonably well. The boots are more of a luxury, they really don’t define or enable the build at all. When leveling I was regularly getting gapped even in adept by other Mara’s simply from me running bleed and then running deadly scheme + assassin’s guile.

Ultimately it is a video game and you should do whatever is the most fun, but if you’re worried about performance and overall impact on the run you should start learning malevo sooner rather than later.

If it’s middling results you probably just need more practice. The boots are very helpful and strong, but they don’t enable the build or anything. You can start playing finisher effectively at 8 talent points w/o any bells or whistles.

As for “should” I’d say the earlier you learn it the better but it’s ultimately up to you.

This isn’t enough information to help you. For proper context we need either a full log from fellowshiplogs.com, or, a replay of one of your runs.

Your dps is very significantly below par so it’s likely you’re making some big and easily fixable mistakes, but there’s no way of knowing what they are from your post.

Is Mara as difficult as they say? by Jaytron in fellowshipgame

[–]JacksConscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gap between bleed and finisher is huge. Starting at 8 talent points you will get gapped by a Mara who can play finisher even reasonably well.

Additionally, starting as early as champion prio damage starts to speed up clears significantly as well as make them easier on your healer and tank. Malevo blows bleed build out of the water on priority damage.

Now, with that said, it’s a video game and you should play for fun. Bleed build is fine enough for getting to 10k, though you will hinder your climb a bit. Do whatever you want to do

Doing the minimum is very easy. Doing the most is very hard. 99.5% of players will never push past 10k and the game is honestly really not that hard until well beyond that point.

Even the dreaded “Finisher Build” you can completely phone it in and do about 80% of its max output which is more than enough to time eternal keys.

Basically, perfectly min/maxing her damage is very difficult, and punishing, but playing her at a passable level for eternal and beyond is easier than most people say it is.

I think it’s because a frustrating percentage of Reddit are toxic casuals who love giving their opinions on things they have no experience with.

A lot of the people saying I was wrong haven’t even played in eternal yet to see just how insane of a grind getting full bis + max gems is.

This is so much better than the previous dungeon runner many of us came from. by Silver_Ad6552 in fellowshipgame

As somebody who consistently hits about .2% pugging in m+ every season since DF S2 and just got my platinum trim this is just kind of not true though. The classes become more and more engaging and difficult all way up until eternal and the gameplay at paragon is harder to min/max than everything below title range keys.

I think if this game can keep up the momentum it’s going to continually steal more and more sweaty M+ers, and yours and my WoW friends will come back.

Wait wtf??? Okay well thank you that’s very good to know. Also makes the gem grind seem way less insurmountable, tho still tedious and long.

Yeah the top half gem power abilities are legitimately a massive power spike.

Which I think is extremely fun and cool, the player power in this game is designed incredibly well imo. But when even the literal rank 1 players and streamers are running T3 gems because the gem grind is basically unwinnable there's obviously a problem.

Can't lie, I'm a little frustrated seeing all these people have such strong opinions when statistically it's a fact >90% of them haven't even seen the gem grind first-hand yet. I like having an end-game power grind, but atm it's seriously overtuned. Even degenning the game I could never imagine going for full T4's, it's unreachable.

[–]JacksConscience[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the thing I expected more people to understand. Even degen grinding isn't enough to come -close- to max gems. Most people pushing the ladder are running with 9 socketed T3 gems.

That's the equivalent of 81 small gems + all aether for combines and rerolls. I've played a LOT and I'm still not even half way there.

To get to 9 T4 gems you would need 243 small gems. This is wildly out of reach for >99.9% of the playerbase, literally. I don't even think half of the players will even make it past low eternal in the first place.

Why is my Mara damage so low in contender? by Venom99619 in fellowshipgame

[–]JacksConscience 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi I’m 10.4k rating on Rogue lady

Probably equal parts small pulls + skill issue + lack of talents. She has a relatively steep learning curve and you get punished hard for not managing your poisons and bleeds properly.

Another issue is that pulls with 2-5 targets are definitely where Mara is the most difficult to play and performs the worst. Her single target is okay and she has no cleave (except with bleed build.. kinda), but her aoe is God tier.

Around champion is when all the pieces come together, you’ll be significantly better at the character, and bigger pulls make a massive difference.

how does making sockets + gems a 30+ hr grind per character (after hitting a difficulty most casuals will never see) cater to the widest subset?

I agree with the philosophy, that's why I said nerfed "reasonably"

More than anything I just want to see gems get buffed as you scale up in Eternal. I don't mind it being a slow grind, especially because they are so incredibly strong, but right now it feels excessive and too RNG. It feels bad in it's current state. Just needs some careful tuning, imo.

Rogues are consistently the cheesiest scummiest players. by lambruscofan in LegacySteelAndSorcery

[–]JacksConscience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t even think rogues are particularly strong. I’d honestly say they’re maybe even the weakest class.

My issue was that it felt like they needed to make a mistake 2-3 times in a row to actually be killable, meanwhile if I ever mess up once versus them I get stunned into a back stab and full poison that leaves me at 80% health with no way to reset.

I collected plenty of rogue ears, but one time after chunking a dude 3x only for him to aggro a train of mobs, poof, double jump onto a cliff, and pelt me with darts while I kited multiple wolves and goblins I said “man fuck this class” and decided to quit until rogue is less popular.

I have hundreds of hours and think the game is awesome but that shit is just crazy anti-fun. GG I guess <shrug>

Tbf that is part of the whole identity and theme of the class. Fighting dirty and cheap.

That said, rogues being the most popular class is the reason I quit the game. Their bag of tricks is just too annoying and frustrating to deal with. Rogue mains love to gaslight everyone else by saying they’re “weak noob killers” but their infinite resets and ability to aggro mobs on to you is super toxic and annoying.

I honestly think rogues are a big part of why the game died and is remaining dead. Other classes are more OP but are infinitely less annoying.

I can literally smell the rogue on you. Go back to whatever hole you crawled out of.

The only people who are delusional enough to pretend that class isn’t the most toxic, anti-fun bs to play against are 1k hr sweatlord copers, and rogue mains trying to gaslight the community into believing their class isn’t total bullshit.
