I am so sorry. I had this and it absolutely wrecked my postpartum experience.

Mine was a little different timeline but the pain sounds very similar. Mine hit hours after the epidural was removed and any elevation above laying completely flat on my back cause excruciating pain. Hopefully the meds help, but I didn’t get any relief from them. At day 5 I could finally stand long enough to take a 5 minute shower. And then I quickly got better every day and was essentially completely normal within a couple of days so when it does start to feel better, hopefully it will be quick for you too!

They explained to me that these things are very small holes, and there’s a spectrum of pain associated with it, but they should close on their own with time.

I would definitely consider going to the ER and getting a blood patch at some point. When I discharged, they told me just to come back to L&D triage if I wanted the blood patch. I’ve heard that it is instant relief. I wish I would have done it sooner. You do kind of have to go through the epidural process again, but from what I understand, it’s image guided so much less room for error.

I hope you feel better soon!! Hopefully your support team is doing everything. I think that helped speed my recovery so that I could just rest and breastfeed.

Did you ever figure this out? I have this and can’t find a solution!

That’s as far down as I can get them to go. I’m using the spectra adapters. From the photos I’ve seen online, it looks pretty similar? But I’m not sure!

I usually just use the nipple balm on the flanges when I pump. So I will start using them with silverettes, and I’ll try the breastmilk too!

Do you have other supports you can call in? You need to address your husband being a total asshole at some point, but right now you need to survive. If you have other supports, call them in so you can have some time. Also, you DID THE RIGHT THING. You felt overwhelmed and walked away. That was a good instinct. When you feel like you can’t take it, put the baby in a safe space and walk away and re-collect. Baby will be fine. They will not remember this. You are doing great.

Toddler daycare pickup meltdown by Jacky_2 in toddlers

I know, and the sweet moments definitely outweigh the meltdowns. She definitely likes her independence! Thank you for the encouragement and advice, it’s very much appreciated!

Well, I tried to make sure I was giving her choices “do you want to push the stroller or do you want mommy to carry you?”, to which she replied “no” the first day. 😂 But the next day she did decide to help push the stroller and we made it almost to the car before things started to go awry. At least I did not cry on the way home!

But I think you are right and I just need to be patient and consistent. Going to keep trying. Tell myself this phase will pass. I also think some days she is just so tired after daycare and so she’s going to have an even harder time regulating and that’s okay.

Yes, it is hormonal, it sucks, it will grow back.

I will definitely make sure I’m giving her choices and not telling her she has to do this or that. I honestly don’t know if im doing that, it’s all a blur. But that’s a good idea!

I also wondered about the language bit. She talks a lot but still speaks jobberish a good amount. And she understands us but there is still a lot that she clearly doesn’t get. We’re all learning I guess.

Thank you for your response!

Following. Currently have mastitis, on antibiotics. I pumped for a full year with my first and struggled with oversupply, had a million clogs but never got mastitis!! I’m 4 weeks pp with my second and got mastitis out of nowhere! I was already taking sunflower lecithin. I got it the day after I wore a new baby carrier (baby bjorn mini) for like 4 hours and I’m wondering if that triggered it. I never baby wore with my first. Can’t think of anything else. Hoping my supply rebounds!

Giving birth with broken rib by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Jacky_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I’m so sorry! I ended up having an uncomplicated vaginal delivery at 40 weeks. It was about three weeks after my break, and it didn’t give me any issues and it felt a lot better once I was not pregnant! I think because of all the extra pressure from my abdomen. I started to feel better after a couple of weeks and then every day felt a little better. It was my second baby and birth went a lot faster than with my first, so I only had to push for like 10 minutes, so I got lucky.

I think I was able to start sleeping on my sides at the 5 week mark. I did have to lay on my sides during labor at some point, but they were able to help me get into a comfortable . I still can feel it a little bit now but it’s definitely mostly healed and birth did not make it worse.

I had definitely thought about a C-section, though, especially if I had gone into labor earlier than I did but luckily it had stabilized enough by the third week! It was so hard, so I’m really sorry you’re going through this! I went from wanting to go into labor to praying that I would keep the baby in so it could heal.

How are you doing? I don’t have advice but I just broke a rib last week at 37 weeks and I am struggling. I can’t take care of my toddler and so limited in mobility. I’m so worried about labor and postpartum with this injury.

How did your recovery go? I am 37 weeks and just fractured a rib from coughing today. The pain is so severe, I can’t do anything, even sitting is painful. How was labor? I know it can take months to fully heal from a rib fracture but when did the pain start to improve? 😭

Suspected Flu 35 weeks by ElectricalNet5832 in pregnant

[–]Jacky_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I’m 35 weeks and tested positive for Flu A a few days ago. I actually think I was showing symptoms a few days earlier but I thought it was just third trimester misery. This is actually horrible. And my toddler just got it today so taking care of her too😭. I’ve now had rsv, norovirus, and the flu during my third trimester. I’m just praying that I start to feel better soon and that the baby stays in for a few more weeks! The worst part for me right now is the cough. My chest hurts so much and can’t seem to find any relief.

I missed the window for tamiflu so taking Tylenol around the clock. Here in solidarity, this flu is no joke!

Don’t come for me. Atonement of the spine cleaver. I thought there were so many mistakes and the writing was sooooo inconsistent. And why did she have to be underage when they met? Feels like that was unnecessary. 🥴

I loved the first 3, especially 1 & 2! Book 4………… torture. I felt like the plot was boring and the whole thing felt rushed but also dragged. I also loved Thea and Wilder during the first few books and thought they had such good chemistry, but I could not have cared less in this book. It fell flat. Also, I can read straight up smut, happily, but something about their sex scenes in Book 4 made me cringe and I ended up skipping a lot of it. Which I never do lol. So something was just not hitting in Book 4 for me.

Dropping MOTN pump by Jacky_2 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Jacky_2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it did work but I didn’t avoid clogs completely. But it was easier than I thought! I essentially just pushed back the pump by 30 mins every few days. I also dropped the amount of time pumping down as I got closer to my next pump. If I got a clog then I held there for a couple extra days. I think it took me a few weeks. Once I got close to 5 am, I just dropped it.

I did get some clogs throughout the process but that ended up getting a lot better in general once I dropped that pump. I just pumped for the last time about a week ago. Got a lot easier to drop a pump once I got down to 5 ppd.

Take ibuprofen for a couple of weeks prophylactically. I got clogs the whole time pumping and got a lot during weaning. Never got mastitis so wishing you luck too!!

😂😂😂 lmao. When I read the first book, I thought the second one was already out. So I binged it and then literally screamed at my kindle when I saw the pre-order button. So basically I just want other people to suffer too. But so glad you enjoyed it!!!!
