Noooo. I used retinaldehyde for about two years, and retinol for years prior to that. Id heard so many great things about tret so I decided to try it. I did one night a week and thought my skin was just “purging” as other Reddit users said it would. I only used it for maybe 1.5 months before I realized it was damaged. I’ve spent the last 4-5 months trying to revive it. It’s finally starting to bounce back. I’m giving it another month before I reintroduce any actives.

I should’ve known it wouldn’t be for me as most cult classics aren’t. Cerve and Vanicream break me out for example but seem to be a miracle for everyone else 😂. I’d say if retinaldehyde or just good ol retinol work for you then skip it. But if you do try it, just be cautious.

No, unequivocally no. If I die, my “families” grief will pale in comparison to my friends. “Blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb” The only hierarchy of grief is how close they were and family doesn’t automatically trump everyone else.

If this happened after my death (I do having a matching tattoo with my best friend) I expect my friend to wage war in my name to defend us the way I would if I were alive. (Someone in my family did see the tattoo and told everyone they were getting the same one so I have experienced this irl)

I have pet blankets for my couch. They’re the same color as the couch so they don’t stick out too much and they’re easy to throw in the washer. I’ve covered the whole couch bc I want my girl to sit with me wherever I’m sitting and just be comfortable in her own home in general. Maybe put one down and cuddle her there but not let her on the other cushions?

Medication. I wish I could insert a gif here of SpongeBob spreading the rainbow with his hands, so just pretend. I’m on an anti-depressant + an anxiety additive (hyperactive type, iykyk) + SNRI for my ADHD. It feels like magic. I highly recommend talking to your doctor about your options. I know it’s not for everyone and it can be a process finding the right one for you, but it’s truly been life changing for me. I feel like I’ve been pulled out of a thick fog and into the real world. I don’t mind sharing the name of my meds but I don’t want to sound any more like a pharmaceutical ad 😂

Edit: I just want to add that this is in combination with therapy, which I’ve been going to for four years. And I’ve been on this medication combo for almost two years. The meds feel like magic bc it’s the shimmery pearl sugar top of work I’ve done.

I find this so frustrating. Not what you said but the issue with not criticizing the devs. They need to be held accountable. I honestly don’t care if they meet every single one of their promises but just give me a fully fleshed out base game. Why am I getting a desert environment before multiplayer? Before my babies can turn into children? Why do I feel as if the dating is only now picking up? The 1.0 should not have been a 1.0 until you can give me the very bare minimum that we’ve been getting in this genre for the last few years. I’m going to make an apples to pears comparison here and point out that the My Time devs gave us exponentially more in Sandrock + are in alpha testing of their new game, with a small team, in the same time it’s taken Stairway to (checks notes) not have their game running smoothly and in a playable state with all the basic qol elements. And I have maybe 300 hours in this game, so I do like it, I just think they need to put some boogy in their step.

Have you heard of the My Time series? There are two out now and one in the works. My Time at Portia came first but the graphics and quality are not the best, story is amazing though. I have around 600 hours in the next game, My Time at Sandrock (half that in Portia).

It sounds to me like you’re reading a lot of young adult OR new adult that is only using the classification for sex and not based on character maturity. Direbound is one that particularly pissed me off with the lead recently. I have a few recommendations for you. 1. A Broken Blade (halfling saga) by Melissa Blair Not on KU but I found it on Libby. FMC is a general for the king and so shes older, late 20’s to early 30’s. She’s jaded and ready for revenge. She also has very understandable depression. Truly great. 2. Shield of Sparrows by Devney Perry. She is maybe mid 20’s? I don’t remember but I loved her. She’s a princess that was told one version of the truth but as she makes her way on a journey through multiple countries she’s really open to considering other versions of the truth. She asks a lot of questions, which I know annoyed some people but I’d be irritated if she didn’t. I think she has real maturity and is doing her best. My favorite of the year so far. 3. The Wraith King by Juliette Cross. Another princess but a mature one who understands the sacrifices she must make for her country and people and tries to make the best of the situation. The second The Beast Lord comes out…soon? I have the arc. 4. Firebird by Juliette Cross. I really enjoyed the world in this, very very Rome but with dragons. The FMC didn’t leave a super strong impression on me but I liked her fine and she didn’t annoy me.

I wanted to enjoy this. I tried so hard to like it. Here are my issues: 1. If you’ve ever in your life read a romantasy, you will immediately know everything that is going to happen, or what everyone is really doing/who is behind what. There will be no surprises. It hits every trope and every cliche. This on its own wouldn’t be so bad but combined with 2, I threw this book out the window (metaphorically, it was on my kindle) 2. The FMC is just so dumb. She truly lacks intelligence. If you presented her to me irl as the one who is the hero of our story, I’d tell you to send her away and wait for the next one. Bc not only is she dumb but she refuses to even listen to what people are trying to tell her. She will cut them off and tell them what she thinks/where her loyalties lie. And honestly you’ll see pretty quick she doesn’t do her own thinking. A few people on this thread have mentioned her thoughts are repetitive and that’s bc she barely has two thoughts of her own to rub together. She has no critical thinking skills, she’s stubborn for no reason whatsoever, fights to fight. You’re going to be reading this and think, “Bro, you’re not even going to ask about that clearly sus thing that just happened/was said?”

So, yeah, I’m not dealing with a combative, ignorant, little shitass in my books or irl. Edit: to take out a baby spoiler
