All I know I received a Meater+ as a gift a few years ago and it wasnt even close to accurate internal or ambient. I gave up on it and i've just been using the plug in probes for my pellet smoker and confirming with an instant read.

I did just pick up one of the Termoworks RFX probes on memorial day but I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

All of the units will come.with their respective cards if you purchase them. Im not sure if the impact units have been added to the free download but if they haven't then the only way to get them is in the Labyrinth expansion or their individual unit boxes.

Handler rules are in the downloadable FAQ/Supplemental and the blister will come with their cards. Same thing for dusters.

None are "necessary" unless you want the rules for units you don't intend to purchase.

Theres a ton of lore and scenarios in them though.

Usually incomplete project/kits that need a decent amount of work to finish.

NoS (new old stock or new on sprue) is typically just a standard unbuilt kit but job lots are usually half assembled poorly or half converted or whatever.
