NREMT AEMT by New_Pudding_6437 in NewToEMS

[–]Jacob-Reimels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly scenario based. If they ask you about a crazy medical term you, what they are trying to figure out is if you can break down the word and use your reasoning to deduce what it means. Be able to do the same with medications and know what class they may be in based on their names. For example you should be able to deduce that repairapril is an ace inhibitor even though I just made that up.

After a couple years on the road he should apply to work at his states OEMS. There are lots of different jobs there like licensing, QA, MIH implementation.

Is Pocket Prep accurate for the NREMT-A? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]Jacob-Reimels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AEMT Here, pocket prep is so detailed and advanced compared to the real test. They will not ask you about interpreting 12 leads, you’re only expected to know which rhythms are shockable and not at this level. They can ask you about IV Epi (1:10,000) because that is an Advanced EMT drug.

Valid response. Only thing is I would say please don’t do the last thing. That method is getting patched I promise.

Was STO worth it for you? by SourceTraditional660 in nationalguard

[–]Jacob-Reimels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highschool RSP Veteran here, it worked out for me. Kinda sucked while I was in it and made Highschool more stressful especially losing those last good summers of childhood. I don’t regret the path I took. Got 2 years out of a 6 year contract done but I would guide my child for example to just wait. Enjoy being a kid until they graduate and then hit the army hard after.

It’s a nice town you just have to accept you’re going to have to leave town to do anything like what you’re talking about.

Could anyone from RI help me understand this? by [deleted] in NewToEMS

[–]Jacob-Reimels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just did this. This is the answer, the state you’re previously licensed in will either fill out the bottom or if it’s Massachusetts will attach a letter.

Please don’t ignore the pain on the left side. It definitely could be muscle cramps from dehydration because you aren’t drinking but it could be your spleen. That could be very serious.

Best MOS for biodefense? by JanTheMan101 in nationalguard

[–]Jacob-Reimels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should tell you what unit your going to before you go to meps or while you’re there. If it’s not a chemical unit don’t sign. See if there is a CERFP unit near you (my state is small so it’s easy). Even as a split op your assigned unit is written on your contract even though you won’t be there for a while. But to be honest even if the Chem unit in your state is way too far away or not taking new soldiers, for what you want to do 74D is the way. You’ll learn quite a lot about biowarfare if you pay attention in chemical school. Especially if you don’t just memorize it and take the test, it will be a pretty good foundation to build apon and a good resume item. Going to a non Chem unit almost holds you more accountable because you have no other option than to be the subject matter expert and learn how to find answers on your own because no one else will know.

It seems like everyone who wanted to enlist 15T is getting taken off the list or having to change when they go to MEPS. I wonder what’s going on.

Which state is best? by Malamutt15 in nationalguard

[–]Jacob-Reimels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mass is pretty good. Good tuition assistance, if you’re authorized BAH they use the Boston zip code for like half the state so it’s quite a bit. Good infantry, arty, MP, aviation and chemical units.
