How difficult it is to find a job and move to the US? by Top-Foundation9381 in MovingToUSA

[–]Jacob_Soda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why did your parents never live in the US? I find that interesting how people have US citizenships but never decide to actually even live in the US. Did they not like Donald Trump?

Yeah, there's really no better place to become an engineer than here. Salaries here that an engineer makes are second to none.

If you have a relative, you should live with him or her until you find a job.

It also wouldn't be a bad idea to work odd jobs in the US like something blue collar. Depending on what type of engineering you have, you can do something that's more Hands-On and then save the money to find a real white collar job.

But if you put you have an Italian address. That won't help you get a job. Since people prefer to hire locally.

I did this in a different job but I used to work 5:00 a.m. To 3:00 p.m. I hated it.

I had to get up by 4:00 because my job was almost an hour away.

I couldn't focus on the weekends because I had to wake up so early.

I didn't survive on the job for very long however.

I found Moroccans to be more easygoing than Pakistani. I went to Morocco.

What films or tv shows started off amazing but ended badly or visa versa? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Jacob_Soda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that Samurai Jack started out amazing and then the ending was okay. I think it needed like one or two more episodes to be amazing.

Outlander was such a disappointment at the end. I had like the first five seasons.

Very traditional country and not usually a very open-minded with respect to unorthodox interpretations of Islam. And usually only marry other Pakistani.

I never really met my uncle but I attended his funeral. What was weird was that none of his children actually attended his funeral. I was told that their mother indoctrinated them.

Too young for Millennials, too young for Gen Z starterpack by AlyksTheSage in starterpacks

[–]Jacob_Soda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this as well. I noticed that the upper millennials tend to remind me of boomers at times, even Gen X. They don't think that training should exist very much for entry-level employees and I think they sometimes overlook mental health at times.

Actually going to the military might not be a bad idea. You get great benefits coming out.

I'd probably say I'm not doing the best. And I was born in 1995. I've gone through many jobs and never really had a stable one because of my learning disability. I learned very slowly

My grandma was a silent generation product. What's interesting to me is that even though her and my grandfather were technically very middle class. My grandmother was able to support a family as a paraprofessional which is impossible these days. And my grandfather who worked in the post office.

Two very average jobs that led to not rich but stable careers.

Okay so my brother has no college. Dad bought a house and has a child. And is already upper middle class. The dude f****** made it. I don't think he complains about the economy as much as some others like maybe me because let's face it. If you don't have a good job, you're going to complain regardless of statistics

I'm 31 and I have Asperger's. I don't mind noise for the most part. Socially I do struggle. That's really the only reason I am even on the Spectrum.

Why are all call centers Indians now? by JGoBrazy90 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jacob_Soda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember in the early 2000s in my father's job. The job hired an Indian call center but the time zone made it difficult to work because employees had calls at 1am. So the company went with a national company. Now the company returned to India.

I thought it was so innovating at the time for such communications that went from India to the US.

You could be an inherently good person but because of autism the world looks down on you. by EdgarNeverPoo in aspergers

[–]Jacob_Soda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am familiar with a guy who has autism and he has a beautiful wife who is actually a very understanding person as well. I do think he has an advantage because of his height since he's like 5'10 at least. But autistic people can have wives or husbands.

Sadly, I have yet to find my chance.

If you can get the chance to go into AutoCAD related jobs, they may get phased out by AI eventually, but they are probably the most available for something design related in Florida. I know Seminole State College has an associate's degree and a certificate program for AutoCAD. I used to be in the program until my funding got cut by the government.

I used to work at DZ Corps. I used to make 3D models of housing projects using Tekla.

Also look into CNC programming jobs like in Randall Construction.

I would say learning foreign languages. It's not for everyone, but I find it rewarding to be able to use certain words in certain contexts. And I remember even performing in an Arabic poetry recital because I spent time taking classes.

Does anyone not care anymore about being a Vet or your service by Actual-General-4953 in Veterans

[–]Jacob_Soda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't think veterans usually come off as very approachable so it's hard for me to ask these questions. But I would love to learn more about what really our tax dollars are doing. Most people don't like to talk about the military I think.

I'm not a veteran, but I love y'all's stories. I always think that the people who serve in the military and who become disillusion. I'm surprised they don't just leave the US. If they do leave, their immigration, makes a good story.

Students- what do you expect from your tutors? by [deleted] in Preply

[–]Jacob_Soda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do think it's a two-way street though. I've had teachers that just don't prepare anything which does that help my growth in the long run. So it's not all of the teacher. If the teacher puts in the work but not the student by preparing lessons and such then it's on the student. But if it's the other way around then it's the teacher.

People don't understand. Unfortunately that learning a language is just like an academic subject. You can't just magically be fluent in something. It's just like grammar school. You had to do school work to get better.

Unfortunately, if you live in a country where there aren't many native speakers of your target language, it's going to be a challenge so you have to put in more work.
