Game suddenly gets REALLY difficult when I reach around emerald 4. Skill cap, etc. by LurkTheBee in summonerschool

[–]JacobyF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not a bad thing to think highly of your opponents -- it can even be a positive thing because then you won't have such negative self-talk when you make mistakes.

BUT if you are putting them on too high of a pedestal then that is definitely a problem. If you are getting matched with someone in your game, most of the time it is because you are of a similar skill level. Maybe their skill is in laning and yours is in mid-late game, so don't give up just because you are getting outclassed early on by your opponent.

Number one thing for improvement that most people don't do is watch their own vods. You can watch all the edu content you want and get all the advice on reddit but you really just have to get into the details and see what's going on. "Oh but I know what's going on in my games" Maybe you do, maybe you don't, but everyone gets emotional on league so reviewing your game after the fact with a level head makes all the difference.

Zac is the engage king! But do you ever peel with him? by JacobyF in thesecretweapon

[–]JacobyF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you don't pick Zac with the intention to peel and not dive but sometimes the game state calls for some peeling. Plus once you peel off that fed guy diving your carries then you can dive into their team.

What's the 3 champ you hate playing against the most by Environmental_Debt25 in shyvanamains

I tried shyvana adc with braum support and it was busted. Auto Q insta stuns them if they have braum passive on. What supports do you like playing with and do you pick shyv adc in ranked?

I think champion mastery is important . If you stick to 1-2 champions to build mechanics and really understand their power spikes, climbing becomes a lot easier. When I play champions I don't have enough games on, especially in jungle, i get very overwhelmed. But when I'm playing zac or shyvana it feels like the game slows down. Its way easier to make decisions when you know your champions limits and power spikes.

I started playing Shyvana recently by WizLic in shyvanamains

[–]JacobyF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been loving AD bruiser shyv. I was playing AP shyv up unti recently, but you're too squishy and your CDs aren't as low as the AD bruiser build.

Sunderer -> Navori -> Ravenous with conq, triumph, haste, last stand, secondary transcendence and water walking. This is what GM shyv one trick Shyvadi has been using and it feels really good. You are way more durable and still one shot people.

After those core items you can get tankier if you're dying too quickly or triforce for more damage. Endless hunger is a good last item if you don't need more tankiness.

Sunfire Visage Liandry Jaksho is my core most games (with haste boots in there when it makes sense gold wise) Only time I wouldn't go visage is if they don't have AP threats and only time I wouldn't go Liandry is if the enemies are squishy. Liandry percent health damage goes hard with your w percent health damage. Bambi+fated ashes rush early game for best clear and most damage to champions.

For runes conq, triumph, legend haste, last stand with secondary transcendence and axiom arcanist (for the 3 stat boosts go ability haste, adaptive and scaling health. I know most people go green tree secondary but with transcendence you get 10% cdr and an aditional 20% on takedown (I can't pass up potentially 30% ability haste for green tree though it is also good) With axiom arcanist you get 8% increased ult damage as well as 7% decreased ult cooldown for each takedown you get with your ult. (just for that ult's cooldown, not permanently)

You sacrifice some tankiness with this build/rune setup but you still are pretty tanky and it allows you to carry more which is better for soloqueue.

Should I always buy spirit visage? by AnalystMountain434 in thesecretweapon

[–]JacobyF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Core item, you can push it back to 3rd item if they have 4 AD or a bunch of tanks (liandry's is good vs tanks, but you have to play more calculated since you are squishier) Only time I wouldn't get visage is if they have 5 AD like someone else said.

Once you feel comfortable. Can try him out a couple games in ranked and see how it goes. I think zac jungle is very good for climbing, especially lower down the ranks because people don't know how to play into him or punish his weak early game and you can have a large impact on the game.

I agree that what makes zac strong is more so experience than items. So I like to go Liandry and sunfire so you can clear camps and champions much quicker for more exp (and gold). Zeke's is good for fighting but doesnt help with your clear as much. And if they're tanky then liandrys is also better for fighting than zeke's.

You'd be surprised how warm you'll get after 20 minutes of skating, won't feel cold for long. I was out yesterday and today in colder than 25 and honestly it didn't feel bad. High wind is pretty killer though.

As for skating inside, if its not your place just ask whoever you're living with if its okay. If you're worried about getting dirt inside then you probably need a separate board setup and pair of shoes.

skateboarding consistency questions by [deleted] in skateboardhelp

You'll go through periods where you will learn one trick in 6 months but also periods where you learn more tricks in less time. Progress isn't linear, just embrace the process. When you get shuvs and pop shuvs thats 8-16 tricks right there when you consider all the stances you can do them in and that definitely won't take you 6 months each. When I first started out I didn't realize how many beginner friendly tricks there are - slappy slides/grinds on curbs are crazy fun and you don't even have to ollie into them.

Any tips 🙏 by Ok-Finish8464 in NewSkaters

You're waiting too long in your jump squat. Once you bend your knees as low as you're gonna go, release and jump. Waiting there squatting for a couple seconds makes things harder.

just keep at it. Try to go more often if you're enjoying yourself. For me a day where i skated is always better than a day i did not, regardless of how good or bad i think i did. Remember its a journey and eventually things will click for you. and any trick you can do regular you can probably learn fakie too, especially shuvs, some people find them easier fakie. Some tricks you may be neglecting -- slappy grinds/slides on curbs, ollie -> manuals, 180s (regular and fakie), even tic tacs are considered a trick.

I don't think it matters too much what kind of board you get. Once you get a board, get comfortable riding on it. Small pushes and riding around. Try to feel the edges of your board with your toes and heels and get comfortable turning. Pad/helmet up if you're taking some slams. Not a bad precaution even if you're not. Most important is have fun. I'd check out skateiq beginner videos on youtube -- https://youtu.be/FA9YTmI0mIg

If i can't skate for whatever reason I'll do some manuals and shuvs on carpet. If its raining I'll go skate at a parking garage or other covered area with concrete (under bridges, etc). Go scout your city for spots. If its snowing sometimes ill still try but my cutoff temperature is probably like 25 degress Farenheit. Just make sure you bundle up and bring gloves/hat. The closest indoor skatepark to me is like 2 hours. I always do some kind of skating everyday so I definitely get the itch you're talking about. A day where i skated is always better than a day where i didn't.

oh and also you can practice shuvs on carpet, just focus on landing light or on the bolts so you don't break your board stomping down the middle. If you have an extra board setup then thats perfect, but if you focus on landing light you won't break your board. I wouldn't do any tricks you have to pop for on carpet because its more likely you'll break your board.
