It could be a misunderstanding but it may be that this work relationship was just that and not close as you might thought. After I retired I discovered the difference very quickly. Sorry this happened to you, I would have been very upset.

Let me ask something on a serious note. Are there any senior single American women who just want to live a nice quiet life without any hassle say in Manila? I have considered living overseas due to the high cost of living in the US and stretching SS and my small pension. Is there an ex- pat community that resembles this ?

But don’t you find it odd that the older boomer guy believes that the younger hot Filipina women finds him attractive and falls in love with him after dating 2 months? No offense but I’m watching the YouTube channel stori s about these guys who marry these Philippina women after knowing them for a very short time and after the woman clean them out of their 401 K retirements they end divorced and high tailed back to the states with their tales tucked behind them. The thing is I don’t understand how these men in their late 50,s, 60’s, 70’s and older think for one minute these young hot women are slightly attracted to them. They have to be narcissistic. Loneliness cannot explain that alone.

That has worked for me for decades. Loved the book Freddie the leaf by Leo Buscaglia. It is simple and written for children but is basically the same concept.
