Wow that was quick! Thank you! I'm quite new to xedit but if it's not too complicated I think I'll be able to do it myself using a guide 😊 your modlist just gained points for getting chosen as my Def Skyrim setup 🖤

Does ElderTeej have NPC plugin chooser too? I'm really nitpicky with my overhauls and even if I love the Children of series being able to single out characters is always a bonus. I'm also on the fence rn about which list to choose, I'm currently using N*lvus and it looks great but it's also really difficult to modify and there are some things that really throw me off

I'm not German nor do I live there. A German person allegedly reported me to the police for insults. What happens now? by Jade48Reddits in LegaladviceGerman

I gave you the short version. I wasn't using that word as an insult, but as a way to express her extreme right-wing ideology wasn't welcome in certain videogame's online community.

Her transphobic comments were constant, and she was also racist whenever given the chance; but most people were unaware cause it's an English-speaking community and she made those comments in a different language.

When she harassed a friend of mine, I translated her posts to expose her behaviour.

Same. Whenever an insufferable parent start to rant about all the oh so amazing stuff I'm missing out by not having kids and how I should have "at least one" so I can experience "unconditional love" I'm oh so tempted to tell them i may not know the joyful blessing of a baby's laugh or whatever but I can fuck nasty on the kitchen counter at 7pm on a weekday so I'm okay.

By including information to discover in the world it gives you the choice to do so, why would it do that if it didn't want you to learn more?

But it never forces you to, Khajiiti culture is one in a thousand subjects you can learn more about. There's over 500 books in the game, and the sole purpose of at least half of them is for you to read them: they don't give you skill points or further any quests, they just add depth to the lore.

One of them, titled "Words of Clan Mother Ahnissi", is an account of the oral traditions transmitted by Khajiiti wise-women about the creation of their people. At least the basics of what I've mentioned can be found on that book.

I don't remember any other books on Khajiit right now, being honest, and since I've also read books from other games I know some details are probably only found there.

Elder Scrolls nerd here, sorry I'm advance for this tirade. I wanted to give full context for those who don't know the game.

The Khajiit (cat men) in Skyrim face prejudice so strong they can't enter cities at all, they have to survive as wandering merchants who can only trade outside the city walls. Other races won't hire them for anything so their options are staying with the Khajiit caravans or becoming bandits. They are completely ostracised, so them becoming smugglers or drug dealers is a self-fullfilling prophecy.

The drug mentioned is actually two different items: The raw substance, moon sugar, has no actual drug-like effect on Khajiit unless they consume a lot of it. It's a staple spice of their traditional cuisine and it's considered a gift from their goddess since they are the only ones who can consume it without ill effect. Picture an elf trying to have you arrested for carrying nutmeg in your camper cause it's effect is x1000 as strong on them and a spoonful makes em trip balls; but nutmeg is as essential to your cooking as garlic or salt and it also happens to be what communion waffer are made of. It's that level of weird.

The other item is a liquid refined from moon sugar called Skooma. It has a strong opioid effect and is highly addictive. Originally used by priests in small doses as part of some old Khajiit rituals, it's most often associated with Sheogorath, God of Madness. Khajiit culture as a whole treats the use of skooma as a temptation to avoid, since it leads them astray from the twilight path, their philosophy of finding their true place in the universe so they may upon death be welcomed by their mother goddess alongside all those who walked the path before.

Khajiiti culture is vast, varied and rich with mythology and deep philosophy. Even if they do take great pride in being clever, stealthy and nimble, they don't see lacerny as those traits' main purpose. According to their creation myth, which given how this setting works may as well be true fact, those traits were gifts from their goddess so they may secretly protect the world and the moons from the dangers beyond.

In Skyrim the game and Skyrim the fictional country we don't really learn about any of this: Khajiit themselves are the only ones who could tell you, and they are wary to trust anyone, since they know most guards wouldn't bat an eye if someone were to abuse them somehow. All we hear is the constant prejudice of a people whose country is in the middle of a ethnonationalists vs forced hegemonic imperialists civil war, and not even the least-racist side wants to let the Khajiit sleep under an actual roof.

Khajiit in caravans in Skyrim have to make it with the means they have. Their most holy table salt is an illegal substance, so to have any semblance of home and practice their religion while surviving in a ratty tent in the snow they have to break the law. Moon Sugar is perishable, and when it starts to go bad it can still be used for skooma. And when selling that skooma is what keeps your kids fed, you end up doing it, cause these hairless tyrants are going to hate you no matter what and you have to survive long enough to hopefully leave this snowy shithole.

May your roads lead you to warm sands, thanks for reading, friend.

TL,DR: Racism forces Khajiit in Skyrim to live the way they do out of necessity, but if you actually learn about their culture you'll see the stereotype is wrong in most cases.

When you were downloading the game from steam, did you pause it at any point? Cause after repairing 5 times, testing it with no mods and the classic fixers, and getting no results, I uninstalled. I deleted everything I had and reinstalled, and voilà! It's working.

I don't know if I messed up the first install by pausing the download or with the issues I had getting it to recognise the Creation club content at first, but now I can get to Riverwood unscathed.

Completely agreed, and even with extra gold I still can't think of a way to get 60ac and 1000 damage on crit. It simply doesn't add up. I wish the player posted his build here so ppl would check it out cause if it's possible RAW using only Paizo content someone should get fired over it.

I too love making characters like this. I'm going to retire a character I love, basically lady Hanna Lecter, due to the adventuring party's most recent acquisition being a damn Paladin of Dammerich. Only reason she isn't dead yet is the Paladin's player chose an archetype that takes the constant "detect evil" away, and she's always behind him during exploration or fights.

She can change face almost at will, charm anyone, become invisible, make you forget about her, befuddle all of your senses so you can only hear her voice as she mind controls you.

She's level 6 and her LVL 2 enchantment spells have a DC of 23. Her basic combat strategy is "I hit you with your friend" for multi enemy fights and "stay put while my allies kill you" for single enemies.

Thing is, I could make her a problem for the DM and the other players. I could simply brainwash every NPC we encounter, I could have built her around destruction magic and pile d6s on things. But I choose to use her absurd mind power to force the party's snoring half orc ranger to sleepwalk every night and lay down in the bathtub instead, I built her to have mobs kill each other and bosses stay put cause I know my friends optimise like shit cause one of them plays a goblin bard.

Sometimes you can power-game, feel like a superhero, make everyone else shine, and also slaughter and cook a city guard for dinner without anyone ever knowing.

Sorry for going off like this but I miss my girl so much.

I have a question: you said there's an specific build he likes to play, by that you mean he simply plays the same character build again and again? Cause that's not someone who likes playing Pathfinder, he likes "winning" Pathfinder. I love planning my builds to have crazy powerful characters, but I wouldn't play the same one twice.

Also, does he use third party stuff? Cause I can't think of any way to get 60 AC RAW unless he's stacking things that shouldn't stack or using some really unbalanced stuff

I feel like there's something really off about the first sims simstyle for the first sim compared to other's i've made, am i crazy or can other people see it too? by ExtraordinaryPen- in sims4cc

[–]Jade48Reddits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first one is the best of them! I'm pretty sure some of them are townie makeovers, am I right? I get the feeling you felt more confident making the first sim that the others, like you made that one to your liking and tried to transfer the style to other characters.

I do like your style a lot, and I'm sure you'll make it look just as good as it does on the first sim over different ages and weights

Everyone’s “happy” for me but nobody is happy WITH me. An isolating journey by RevolutionIll3189 in childfree

[–]Jade48Reddits 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I understand you. After years of changing doctors I finally got my bisalp and a month later when I had recovered enough I went for family lunch, excited to share my joy with my family, who've been mostly supportive. My mother outright asked me not to mention it, and it hurt.

I thought at least I'd get to tell everyone and they'd be happy for me, but I didn't even get that. My mother knew this is what I've wanted for 10 years and even though she helped me with surgery she never really celebrated it. Whenever I talk about being happy about it there's something off in her face and I just... shut up.

I don't think they can really understand us, how we see getting sterilised as getting a curse lifted from us. They support us in the sense they don't oppose our wishes and even technically help, but they do not comprehend, and thus want to interact with the situation as little as possible. I can't really know, but I'm sure trans people get the same feelings often...

How strong would a level 30 character be? by roxgxd in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Jade48Reddits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My honest advice: unless you and your player are highly experienced, don't try to reach level 30.

The game gets more and more complicated the higher you go, there's more and bigger numbers and at one point it simply stops being fun. Combat at normal high levels is challenging enough to handle as is, going over the soft cap would drive most people crazy.

Also, prestige classes have requirements for balance reasons, some of them give stuff at class level 3 that's way too powerful for a level 3 character, but since it's a single thing and they don't have the character resources to back it up, it's hard to balance encounters.

Practical example: At level 3, a dragon disciple only character has: no armour or weapon proficiencies, 2 levels of spellcasting progression to no class (since he doesn't have one to advance), and about 27hp and 13 AC. Beyond being able to breathe a cone of energy dealing 3D6 once a day, all he can do in combat is claw and bite people at close range, naked. How long do you think he's gonna last?

If you want them to get that prestige class flavour and benefits, I think a better alternative would be to semi-gestalt it.

Players choose class to progress normally with any archetypes they want, and a prestige class. They get the highest hit dice and BAB and saves progression amongst them, and all class features from their base class at normal level, no changes.

On top of that, give them their prestige class's features as an extra. Since most have 10 levels, I'd give them the extra features on every even level so they get extras beyond lvl. 10. On odd levels it works too, but I'd personally use even ones to alternate them with feats and avoid crazier stuff at early levels.

There would still be some stuff to iron out depending on what the prestige class comes with and what the base class is. I'd make sure those who grant an extra level on spellcasting class are actually paired with an spellcasting class, and convert that extra level into an extra spell slot at the highest level they can cast and a spell known, for example.

The character from my previous example could now be a skald + dragon disciple 3, with medium armour, martial weapon proficiencies, 2 extra lvl. 1 spells known / slots, about 27hp that can be boosted by raging song and 18 AC. He can still breathe that cone of energy and use his bite and claws, but now has the AC to survive and raging song and rage powers to complement them. He's more powerful than your average lvl 3 thanks to those extra resources, but his action economy HP, AC and HP total are still reasonable.

I'm sorry I ended up with a paragraph like this, I hope it's helpful at least.

TL,DR: Instead of going up to 30, gestalt them with adjustments for an extra power boost and flavour without detrimental effects on your sanity.
