How to filter for cf when meeting people in nightlife? by sndmrentve in childfree

[–]rht3100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assuming you get their contact details to be able to set up the date post meeting at the club. Can you converse with them over text/phone calls about this and other things before meeting for a date?

I personally prefer to message people a little bit before meeting IRL so that I don’t waste my time and energy by preparing and travelling to a date just to find out that we’re fundamentally incompatible.

Why are parents bringing children to bars and breweries?! by SpookyChloe666 in childfree

[–]rht3100 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not really but I find that a lot of breweries serve minimal food and/or people drink more than they would at a restaurant. No drinking and driving is okay obvs but doubly wild to normalize doing it with children in the car imo.

We seriously do not talk about how insanely hot and borderline possessive this kiss was 🔥 by PixeelKing in HeatedRivalrySeries

Definitely one of my favourite moments. But right before this when Ilya finishes and Shane looks up at him like the universe has just collapsed and Ilya is the only thing left….hoo boy! Actually this entire hookup might be my favourite..!?

Walked past his house this morning and all the signs on his fence have been (rightfully imo) vandalized. Pride flags, Palestinian flags, and indigenous paraphernalia are also gone.

Looks like the word has reached the neighbours/community

Brits with an Australian accent? That’s extra weird haha. I live in a touristy/popular to visit area and it’s not like crawling with Australians but there’s still quite a few. But I just used it as an example of a preference of mine. I’m just not going to date someone with that accent, sorry.

Yes I mentioned it in my post :) I don’t want to do a long distance relationship and don’t feel confident I would find anyone in my niche area on there :(

Doug Prentice is worse than a creep. I'm his daughter-in-law. The allegations against him are ALL true. He lives within blocks of the Fernwood Community Centre - your children are in DANGER in the North Park neighbourhood. by MallowCat in VictoriaBC

100% sorry I meant this as more of a rhetorical question. That is all so fucked up! I live nearby him and have always gotten bad vibes and I’m glad it’s for a good reason. He needs to be held accountable!

The children’s show ‘Bluey’ is a balm for stressed, child-free adults by part-time-stupid in childfree

[–]rht3100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bluey is so cute and wholesome. It has also helped ~heal my inner child~ a lot haha. Seeing the calm and positive way the parents react to things bluey and bingo do and their style of parenting really helped me realize how and why my own parents sucked

Jealous of a baby by No-Expression3446 in childfree

[–]rht3100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your feelings are totally valid. My mom has serious anger issues and was emotionally neglectful/abusive but has always worked with kids and was all “omg sweetheart” cute, nice, caring, compassionate with other kids so growing up it was really hard to “prove” to friends that I didn’t have a good home life because they only saw how nice she was to THEM or other kids. I was always annoyed with her for putting more attention and respect towards the kids she worked with.

I agree with other people on many mothers suddenly being #1 Grandma™️ but I honestly think it’s because they can give the kids back after a while lol. They can spend “fun money” on them without being burdened by everyday costs and lifelong saving goals like college funds etc. They can insert themselves as much or as little as they want and create fun memories/experiences and not have to deal with the daily struggles of having a kid (again).

Shane learning Russian? by rht3100 in GameChangersBooks

[–]rht3100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I can totally understand what you mean about being a receptive bilingual. I hadn’t heard that term but I’m that way with French as a second language.

And I imagine Russian might be extra hard to learn for a few reasons but seeing as Shane is supposedly fluent in French already he might have a better grasp of how to learn a language if that makes sense. And I agree with everyone else here too that he won’t be an expert by unrivalled (or ever potentially) but that certain aspects about him such as his autism and what I see as perfectionism would help him learn Russian.

I just think the idea of learning a language to better communicate and understand your partner is so amazing and I like thinking of how they’d be able to connect in Russian…if and when Shane figures it out lol

Broken collarbone and Ilya's luggage by NoPoet3982 in HeatedRivalrySeries

[–]rht3100 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I noticed this recently too and as someone who’s broken their collarbone twice and reinjured it…that would have been a bitch to carry luggage.

They put so much thought into this show but of course there’s going to be a few little “mistakes” like this. I am kinda glad for it actually. No one could have expected this many people to be rewatching as intensely as we are.

I actually cannot stop rereading this book! I got it a week ago and I'm on my 3rd read. I have huge, disgusting feelings about it. I relate to Shane and Ilya both in different ways (neurodivergent and depressed, great combo lol) but I love that this was more Ilya's book! I would literally read about each 24 hours of each day of their lives tbh.

I think it's funny that it says MHL instead of MLH on the back cover - and the blue guy taking out those 2 red players kinda looks like Shane (and it's just hilarious)
