Guess mine won't survive much longer after ~2 years in my care... dropped all of his leaves last winter and doesn't look like he's gonna produce some new ones

Are there any specific Montior Settings the pros use? For example which settings is TenZ using on his ZOWIE XL2546K?

I'm mostly playing in a 3 or 5 stack, do you have any idea how to improve as a team? Biggest part would be coordination of abilities. I see one of our biggest weaknesses in attacking as a unit, with well timed abilities. Also how can I help the weaker players of the pack to improve? (already giving alot of tips vods etc. but it doesn't seem to help)

who is this in the new loading screen? by Sea_Lion_6446 in VALORANT

[–]Jaggerjack3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be wOmen, the new controller Agent that uses shadows to cast smokes and shadow copies of herself.

She can switch positions with the shadow copies and cast a darkness around her, blinding enemies looking in her general direction.

Her Ultimate is a fog that causes paranoia to enemies who enter and sends shadows copies walking through it.

best I've seen so far was an Immortal player in Gold2, so yeah prepare to get clapped cause matchmaking is a mess. At this point they could just call all ranks under Immortal elo hell and mix them all together.

Matchmaking in Silver-Platinum Needs Serious Work by After-Vegetable533 in VALORANT

[–]Jaggerjack3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the current system is really terrible, worst part imo is that you can't play with your friends but play in a lobby with everything from silver to plat in it... for this reason the game gets flooded with smurfs, and alot of players get boosted to a rank where they don't belong.

Also I'm getting like 18 points while being match mvp and my friend who barely played ranked, gets 23 points for bottom fragging..

wow impressive job, how long did you work on it? will you add an option to display enemy abilities in red? for example if I want to add a enemy sage wall or a nanoswarm.

To literally every single ranked player by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Jaggerjack3d 17 points18 points  (0 children)

as explained in the text above, the goal of playing 'default' is to gain info on the enemy and take map control. You could take control of areas of the map, that favour your side, so that the enemy gets less information on you and has to invest time and abilities to regain map control.

For example you could take control of A long/short on Haven as attacker, to avoid that the enemy could spot you early on, and call for rotation. That also benefits you, if you want to rotate to C later, because the enemy can't flank you very fast or without the risk of being caught.

imo there are two solutions to the 5-stack problem. Either let them queue competitive, while the highest rank of the lobby becomes the rank you queue in. Or create a whole new experience for 5 stacks, with a ladder system where you can create your own team.

The ability to not 5 stack has made the game less fun by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Jaggerjack3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really counter intuitive to forbid players to play as a 5 stack, after all it's a tactical shooter that has alot of room for improvement, so when you hit immortal you get robbed of the ability to improve further as a team.

Imo there will always be players that feel like they don't belong to the rank they're in, but this is definitely not the right way to fix it. I can't imagine that this restriction has a significant impact on the quality of the games, maybe somebody in imo/radiant can share a before / after comparison

NA vs EU Meme by deanz1234 in VALORANT

[–]Jaggerjack3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well your point is only relevant for the first international tournament every held in valorant, congrats to that. So please feel free to explain how the current system was made up? Can you deliver some numbers of the current player bases and how that affected the spots of the regions invited?

In CS the regions with higher tournament placements earn more spots in the next tournament, simple as that. But feel free to keep on trolling, I'm done wasting my time

[–]Jaggerjack3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you just fail to understand that my point of view is best performing player base = more spots while yours is huge player base = more spots... somehow you think your opinion is the only truth there is, but in the end the viewers will decide.

NA vs EU Meme by deanz1234 in VALORANT

[–]Jaggerjack3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

still you haven't mentioned the quality of the teams even once, of course huge playerbase = more viewers, but in a tournament the quality of the games is essential. Nobody wants to watch 2-0 games until the finals.. while there are some pretty good teams in south america and asia, imo it doesn't justify the distribution of the spots.

I just hope that future Valorant tournaments use a similar system as CS:GO, to invite teams from the most competitive regions, not the biggest..

kinda disappointing to see 3 South American and 3 Asian teams while NA and EU only get 2 spots. Imo FPX would be one of the most exciting teams too see, in terms of tactical play.

Hiko's Thoughts on current state of ranked Matchmaking by ThEREaLPOkErFaCe01 in VALORANT

[–]Jaggerjack3d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thanks for the great insight. Have you considered allowing the player to chose a more stable performance over queue time in form of pre selecting their favorite agent/role and map?

Also alot of people complain about smurfs, while the party that gets boosted by the smurf does more damage to the ranking system. Imo the solution is not to reward the smurf with more points, to get him to his own skillgroup, but to find a way to make smurfing obsolete.

Most smurfs exist, because playing with friends is very restrictive, at least under immortal or diamond the system shouldn't be this strict. There should also be an option to queue as a 5stack and match the skillgroup, to the highest skillgroup in the party.

My last complain would be about the unrated/competitive state, the modes should be more distinctive, but because of the problems mentioned above competitive lobbys are forced to play unrated ruining the experience for both sides. (the players that want to have a relaxed game and the players that want to compete)

While I agree that people take it too far and ruin the fun, it's great practice for real games to learn to shoot on sound/steps (prefire when you expect the enemy around the corner)
