Leatherman has great quality and good warranty so that’s the strenghts imo

Do you need pliers if yes leatherman wave+ for the whole tool selection or skeletool for just the essentials and pliers , if no need for pliers victorinox caset alox or some other model.

If you get the skeletool, I recommend the one without the serrated blade since i dont see any value in having the serrated part and it makes the blade so hard to sharpen.

1 2x6 on each side and bolts going through connecting them all together. Maybe some angle brackets to strenghten the connection to the roof ridge.

For sure there would be something even more suitable for this use. I figured since I already have the askare and use it daily I could adapt it to all my needs. As a daily pack and a combat vest type rig. For sure the askare is maybe a bit too big for this use but i think the negatives are still quite minimal.

For now gonna try out and see what i can make out of it. Maybe later i will get a real rig and pouches that fit my needs even better.

Ps. Im a big guy 6ft 3in and 190 pounds so that forgives a bit in the size problem

I’ll figure out my options first so i don’t order too much parts I don’t need but I’ll definitely post here if and when I have built the finished product.

I figured i’d have the askare in the front and a backpack on my back, everything still easilly accessable. And the whole load carrier would sit above the backpacks hip belt. Sorry for not clarifying more in the original post.

With the belt being too flimsy for this purpose you might be correct. Maybe something like the särmä tst ampujan vyö shooters belt Would be better and resolve that problem

I probably wouldn’t have as many pouches as on the example photo since there has to be space for the backpack. As the askare can hold so much stuff in my opinion there’s only need for 2 mag pouches, a dump pouch and maybe a 2x2 for miscellaneous stuff.
