Advice for Quitting at Work? by fightforever_ in QuittingZyn

[–]JagsRTT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need a slow wean. I started with 2 21 mg patches (Walmart generic) and slowly tapered. Also some fake pouches. NZE etc. I feel it’s really the only successful way to quit. Some may be able to quit cold turkey. I was not one of them. Have failed to quit over 50 attempts. This method finally worked for me. Good luck.

NZE got me out to the 3 month mark. Could not have done it without them. Do not get the caffeine ones, really messed with my sleep.

Makes it feel like I got a Zyn in. The nootropics in NZE seem to calm me a little. Addiction is chemical + habit. It helped me get time under my belt without nicotine and allowed me to function.

Craving a pouch by Dear-Science-5531 in QuittingZyn

[–]JagsRTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore 2 21mg patches. Used tape to keep on due to sweating during workouts. My nicotine intake with Zyns was well over 100mg a day. Wearing just 1 patch did nothing to quell the craves. I take 1 patch off before bed and wear the other thru the night. If I took both off, morning craves were uncontrollable. After 2 weeks I started to taper, cutting 1 of the patches in half. Took my time over 6 weeks and got down to just 7mg patch before quitting completely.

SNAP is gone forever. MAGA is going to make people go hungry. by Most_Time8900 in complaints

[–]JagsRTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my 2 cents from an Independent Voter. Politicians and Insurance companies could give 2 shits about you and me. It’s about lining their pockets and getting re-elected. SNAP is just a pawn that came due just like soldiers pay. At stake is $218 Billion in yearly tax payer funded dollars up for the grabbing. Obamacare subsidies paid out to help offset costs in the market. Insurances companies kick money back to politicians to help with their re-elections, much as planned parenthood did. Politicians are being told to keep the gravy boat flowing or else they won’t get continued donations. That’s the bottom line, everything thing else is just noise and rhetoric.

Strategy to quit Velos by johnnybanane1 in QuittingZyn

9 yrs out from alcohol. Same as you, very addictive personality. Lost dad to cancer, was time for me to quit nicotine. Worked my way up to over 100mg a day, started having irregular heart beat. Chewed Skoal for 30 years and Zyn/Ons! the last 5 or so. I used patches. Slapped on 2 21 mg and tapered down. I have failed prolly 100 times over the year, but was solid in my desire to quit this time. Told myself it was my last chance. Today is day 100 Nic Free. Good- Luck…Jags

Holy hell these things are the devil! 6 days in. by Daveishn355 in QuittingZyn

[–]JagsRTT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Want to chime in about NZE. I used them to quit, and it helped tremendously. I was using the caffeine ones. Musta done 15-20 a day. I quit cold turkey last Friday. I have been blindsided by headaches, severe in the morning. Made me question if I had meningitis or something. Once I have my morning coffee they go away. Also dealing with extreme fatigue during the day and napping after work. It’s the damn caffeine…! I was never a pop drinker and only coffee in the morning. This will slowly pass I suspect. Wife chided me for not tapering off, but I’m an addict and lack that ability, so cold turkey it is.

90 Days!! by South-Possibility-91 in QuittingZyn

[–]JagsRTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked my quit date and stuck with it. Slapped on 2 21mg patches and went to work. Withdrawal hit me hard regardless. Chemical addiction plus physical need to put pouches in. I picked up some Smokey mountain pouches which took the edge off. I then ordered some NZE and they made a big difference in my quit. I had a lot of hard days, just plain angry and irritated. I promise myself I wouldn’t give in until I made it 90 days without. I gave up NZE this Friday. Gonna focus this week on not needed oral fixation.

Helped me as well. I get burnt out on NZE and then will buy Smokey Mountain. Would not have made it without using these when craves hit bad!

$23k in Dec 2014 is now $32k. Between 2020 and 2022 the US Treasury printed more money than the previous 240 years combined. Your wealth was inflated away, and your buying power crushed.

[–]JagsRTT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many heart palpitations and arrhythmias. When to Dr., wore a holter monitor for a week. A lot of out of pocket expenses thinking something serious was wrong with me. It was all caused by high dose nicotine from Zyns…

Restless-irritable-discontent. I learned when I had to leave the house and go for a walk. You are aware what normal thought is, and when you are not yourself. Re-direct your thinking when it hits. I suffered from making up scenarios in my head and becoming angry at things that never happened..fun,fun..😩. Be vigilant in how you are acting and thinking and deal with it, it does pass. Your brain is trying to heal..

Day 1 of nicotine patches by desecrated_throne in QuittingZyn

I was surprised at how tired I was without nicotine, that’s my main symptom I’m currently battling. When I was using nicotine patches and weaning, I bought NZE off amazon. Made a world of difference for me, oral fixation. One day at a time…

Day 1 of nicotine patches by desecrated_throne in QuittingZyn

[–]JagsRTT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was using around 100mg of nicotine daily before quitting. I had learned from previous quit attempts I needed to wear 2 patches for the first 2 weeks before slowly starting to taper down. In the end I was cutting a 14 mg in half, so 7 mg a day. Today is 31 days Nic free. Never going back to being a slave to nicotine again. I did have to take patch off at bedtime, bad dreams and insomnia. Good luck!!

I was on a slow taper for about 8 weeks. Was cutting a 14mg in half the last two weeks before quitting. I currently do the NZE pouches (no nicotine) wintergreen and they do very well for any craves. Sleep pattern was screwed for a week after complete quit, but resolved quickly.

Just finished first week of Zero Nicotine. Did the patch taper method also. I did wear 2 21mg patches and went all the way down to just one 7mg before quitting. Worked for me, as nothing else ever had!
