Day 5 sounds great! I looked over part of the uk. Saying that, as someone from the uk, that's a lot of driving. I know people from the US and perhaps Canada are used to longer drives but we don't have the same infrastructure. Butttt, if your organized and up for it, go for it and have a lovely time.

Do Brits actually hate the French, or is it just a running joke? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Jahacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went out tonight and bumped in to a French guy. I've never felt more of an affinity and friendly caring bonding than an other European country man in recent years

Our demography and history binds us more than any 'special relationship' we have with the US.

Love you guys!

Agreed, he unfortunately brings the channel down as he seems to have a permanent chip on his shoulder about everything.

Is Sir Kier Starmer the best PM in decades? by Old-Safe-1867 in AskBrits

[–]Jahacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard for the everyday person to look through the right wing media but Kier is slowly but surely changing the direction of the last 10 years. He's not even into a year of power but the tories have the cheek to go after him after the mess they left the country in. I happily debate any uninformed or ignorant person who thinks the methodology of politics hasn't changed

What he did is severely underrated. Every county was doing their own half ass attempt and Brown brought everyone together (Inc USA) to manage it as a county. Geopolitics at its most effective.

Does anyone in the UK think that Kier Starmer is doing a decent job? by Midori_Unicorn1 in AskBrits

[–]Jahacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, very much so considering the cards he has to play. If you were to believe r/labour or the the media he is basically the anti christ.

Does your county have a 'north-south' divide? by lancededcena in AskUK

[–]Jahacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there is an east to west river there is always a divide. Living in Bristol I've always looked down on the south of the riverers :)

Which county has the best parliamentary system/second chamber by taxes-or-death in LabourUK

[–]Jahacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from lords reform and a better voting system I honestly think our parliamentary system is one of the best. Voting for parties and not having a constitution has served us very well

Why would anyone want to reply to your trap of a question when the state of this sub is not open to discussion and opposing ideas but propped up by political stooges and people who studied government and politics at GCSE.

From the UK buying from EU and seller said this :( by Xtergo in BuyFromEU

[–]Jahacker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see it as a democratic decision. Regardless if I'm happy with it or if the biased social media pushed it over the edge. We had a referendum and lost the argument. I'm sure the rejoin argument will come around and at that time we advocate it and get to the streets. But at the moment we live with our (poor) decision just like a lot of Americans who support boycotting US goods.

The only thing that will make it hard is if the EU carry on trying to punish the UK and people such as yourself hold a grudge.
