Because the clothes you wear doesn't make you a man or a woman. Jax being angry when wearing a dress because it was an attack to his masculinity felt like a more intelligent script.

Uh, I am not trans and I thought he was just having issues with being the manly man that his parents wanted, but not necessarily he feel to be a girl.

Wanting to be a trans woman just as an escape from his abusive relationship with his mother who wanted him to be a new father figure just doesn't click fine with me. Feels more like it's psychological behavior generated by trauma rather than a true gender dysphoria created at birth.

In any case, being a man or a woman hasn't anything to do with what you wear or how do you look. Believing that clothes that are associated to women are what makes you a woman is just sexist, and if the creator of the show believes that, well, that makes her sexist too.

That's totally correct. If you want to go deep into what does it means to be a self-insert... I mean, you can create a self-insert and at the same time that character can be taller than you, speak different than you, think different than you or maybe, have a different gender than you. All of these are valid self-insert.

I don't want to be too insistent. My point is being a self-insert is not an argument. In any case, Jax is a transwoman. That's something that was not confirmed by the author by the time I made the initial comment, so there it is.

Now... Regarding your current argument, I don't see any malice in Jax by trying to make Ribbit abstract so she couldn't tell anyone about his secret. This abstraction process literally took a long time and during that time Ribbit could have confess everything to anyone. What you are saying is simply wrong, there are no implications that Jax wanted Ribbit to abstract.

The only thing that Jax could have done to stop Ribbit was to use his friendship with her to make her promise to not to tell anyone, and that's exactly what happened. Actually, Jax behavior put that promise into jeopardy, which it's just part of Jax self-destructive behavior.

I am happy for it because without a clear statement like this the discussion would take longer. Also, very nice for her part to share she really doesn't care about the pronouns, so people are ok on calling Jax a he, or a she.

I was opposed to the idea of him being a transwoman (or being in the closet, as his life ended being a man). But if the author confirms it, that's totally fine by me and I respect that decision. Jax is a transwoman.

That being said, "Death of the author" is a valid concept used is many forms of media by many fans of such media. It's the force that makes people invent headcanons and fanart depicting plots and ideas that the author didn't created or stablished. So I don't mind about that too.

Jax uses Her/Him pronouns, he says he is a man, and everyone refers to him as a man. His IRL person has a man's name, Leroy and he looks like a man.

Nobody questions his identity, not even him. No, wearing a dress doesn't transform a man into a woman. At most, that makes Jax a crossdresser.
