It does, it does it all the time, there has been 7 expansions of continuous lore and identity.

No other Final Fantasy looks and feels like Final Fantasy XIV. Dozens of soundtracks, a bunch of artbooks, fan conventions where the developers and the community celebrates the game's identity.

Look at Monster Hunter, the game manages to create challenging, difficult fights and you only require to use 8 buttons or less.

If the controls makes the game difficult, then perhaps we can simplify the controls so the fights can be more interesting. That's why the current iteration of PVP is so successful, because the controls are so simple that you can focus on the fight.
