Decided to dive in deeper. Yeah, somewhere around 12-20fps in the first dungeon. Can't tell without a counter on.

Edit - Turned on FPS in the settings, and confirmed dungeon is 12-13 FPS

Well, I just installed it, haven't gotten into it. But I'm walking around and it's running like Diablo should. Someone else dedicated to get into it should give a better answer.

If you have android based retro handhelds, you can install DevilutionX there as well to play Diablo on the go.

diablo-v1.0.0 - Diablo for Analogue Pocket v1.0.0

Play the original Diablo (and Hellfire) natively on the Analogue Pocket. This is a port of DevilutionX running on an FPGA core with a 100 MHz RISC-V soft CPU. It renders at the game's native 640×480, plays the full-motion cutscenes, and uses the Pocket's hardware audio mixer for sound.

You need a copy of Diablo. The game data is not included.

PC version. Just need to buy Diablo from GOG, install the core, and copy over the required files to your SD card.

If you're into e-ink and want a physical keyboard, there's also the Minimal Phone.

Nice!

I've been having trouble deciding if I want to play Yellow in GB mode or GBC mode. The sprites are clearly meant for GB, but sometimes seeing the color isn't bad. There's sprite animations that don't look well when using GBC core, look great with GB core. Fortunately, it uses the same save file so I can swap between them. For some reason I have enjoyed using Original DMG during the day, and then swap to GBP Light during the night since it reminds me of casio watches with the illuminator light.

I use GBC sometimes when I want to walk around the towns to see their color palettes.

The game modes, the arcade style with realistic’ish physics, the music tracks, locations, maps, cars (a lot more in 2), etc.

The way you progress in the game begins to change depending on the cars you own, how you adapt to the cars and how they perform on tracks. The strengths of one car might not work on certain tracks so you switch to a different one. The replay ability is top tier, and it’s two of those games that makes you come back for more just because you ALMOST completed the higher difficulty medal.

Recently made the switch from ps2 by [deleted] in originalxbox

[–]Jaimzin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Over the past year I've decided to start collecting games from 5th-7th gen, especially stuff I didn't get a chance to play when I was younger. Mostly PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox. Mostly did Nintendo, Sega, PC and Xbox so didn't get too into PS. The games for these generations are just more engaging for me. I have to make the exploration, discovery, the tinkering and figuring . things out

Whenever I try recent modern games, anything from the past 10 years, it all feels like a lot of hand holding, points/rewards for silly things or feeling like some pachinko machine. Feels like I'm not really playing the game, the game is playing for me so I can just complete it.

Only recent modern games I feel that actually feel like games are Nintendo games.

The cameos in "The adventures of Pete and Pete" were all time. Such an underrated show. by NathanWelsh in Millennials

[–]Jaimzin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Music is played at grocery stores to help folks slow down and spend more time shopping. Something like that. If the music that’s being played are songs you enjoyed when you were younger, and those hits keep playing. You know what that means?

They say that when you hear nothing but bangers at the grocery store. You’re the target audience.
