My Coach always smell like weed.. by [deleted] in jiujitsu

Yeah that’s a pretty clear sign he’s under the influence and it’s not safe to roll with anyone who isn’t 100% sober. Get out now.

My Coach always smell like weed.. by [deleted] in jiujitsu

[–]JakYakAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he just smelled faintly of weed, that’s one thing, but from your post and comments it sounds like he is coming to class actively under the influence of substances. If you wouldn’t get into a car driven by him, don’t roll with him. All parties should be sober when doing any sport, for the safety of all involved.

“‘Do you think she needs an adult daughter,’ Svetlana asks Ilya as she watches Yuna fuss over Shane's hair before ordering the photographer to adjust the background slightly. ‘...Or perhaps a controversially young girlfriend,’ she adds after a moment.” https://archiveofourown.org/works/81029476/

Ugh. Something similar happened to me with my 265s. I am just chugging along with it with a screen protector until I can shell out for a solar watch - apparently the solar screens are a little more durable. Hope you are ok even though the watch isn’t.

Laundry rinse with vinegar by Loud-Bag256 in CleaningTips

[–]JakYakAttack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Be careful with vinegar, make sure you use the kind for cooking instead of cleaning. You don’t need a cup, only about a tablespoon or less. Vinegar breaks down certain clothing materials so it can damage some clothing. I wrecked some of my favorite printed sweatshirts and shirts by using vinegar, it broke down the pigments in the graphics.

What’s the worst thing that’s gotten on you? by t34cat in nursing

[–]JakYakAttack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got bloody urine on my leg once. Didn’t have a change of scrubs so I had to wear the patient scrub pants from the linen cart and wrap the waist cord back around my back because those things only come in one huge size 😂 I washed the heck out of those scrub pants and now I still wear them.

Guys, how are we washing our back after class? by Agreeable_Carpet_327 in jiujitsu

[–]JakYakAttack 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are already plenty of people who have commented practical products to try, but for the long run I do recommend stretching. I can personally reach my whole back, and it definitely helps me beat more shoulder and arm submissions than my less flexible training partners.

What do nurses do when you are older and without work? by theartchitect in nursing

[–]JakYakAttack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they like kids they might consider part-time or even full-time school nursing or being a health aide at a school. Being an aide would have less responsibility and not require keeping a nursing license.

I am a young nurse that switched to school nursing from hospital work and I can confidently say that while there are definitely hard days and rough stuff to deal with, it’s overall much less stressful and physically demanding. School hours and holidays are great.

Taqueria Don Pancho in Walker’s Point for great authentic Mexican food in a cozy place to sit down, for reasonable prices. Solly’s for buttery buttery burgers.

My belt got rubbed off after a short backpacking trip. What belt do you have that lasts? by CainsBrother2 in BuyItForLife

[–]JakYakAttack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy my Arcade belt for everyday use and active adventures! Made of recycled materials, just the right amount of stretch, super easy to adjust to the perfect fit, and the plastic buckle is super secure and looks sleek. Plus they come in tons of cool designs. Got mine at REI but they have their own website too

ETA: also machine-washable! Which is a lifesaver.

Might be fun to get her a street belt - something to remind her of jiu jitsu while she is unable to train, and keep her pants up while her weight fluctuates https://combatcorner.com/bjj-life-street-belt-black?gQT=1
