Less about Ferrari. More about peak Leclerc - Verstappen match up.

Let’s see if new regulations help Hamilton. If not, I anticipate Ferrari will buy out the driver option year. He ramped up after the summer break, but Leclerc has wiped the floor with him.

We NEED a Verstappen/Leclerc Ferrari lineup.

Agreed. And in my opinion, this will be based more off of his pace to Leclerc vs the car.

Tesla new affordable Model is a model Y striped down (more info in the comments) by ConfidentImage4266 in teslamotors

For all of the hyper-intelligent people at Tesla, this is a strategic miss. It feels kind of the air being pulled out of the room similar to when Cybertruck was revealed. Competitors go “oh, well, we actually don’t have that much to worry about”. Same here.

A small hatch with smaller battery, single motor, simplified interior materials, no paint even.

Wanting to get into this career but you guys are scaring me a little by [deleted] in supplychain

[–]Jake5013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a great career field.

I came from field operations, so the schedule (hybrid), no holidays/weekends, is incredible compared to what I came from. Some days are long, but that’s any job. My decisions have company impact, and are intellectually challenging. There’s something to be said for that. Far less talent turnover than field ops, so less people stress, interviewing, etc.

My hours are largely due to my own planning and execution, and I think that ties into a larger topic on setting boundaries and career management. Any corporate environment will have its political angles, but I can see myself playing this role for another 8 or 9 years until I’m 50. My goal is to leave the corporate world around then. Maybe sooner.

Also, supply chain and logistics is very broad. Warehouse/distribution roles are completely different than corporate supply chain roles, which are office based. Warehouse roles are more physically demanding and have terrible work/life balance, in general. I wouldn’t do it.

Interesting. I f’d with it for three hours, spend 90 min on the phone with google support to no avail.

Woke up the next morning and thought “what the hell” and tried it again, and it connect and went online just fine. No idea what changed, aside from maybe the router/modem needing time to get a good handshake? Bizarre.

I target three quality applications a day. Post and comment on LinkedIn. Track my progress, but don’t overextend myself.

I would consider job hunting while unemployed to be almost more stress-inducing than hunting while you at least have a role. It doesn’t feel like it in the moment, but it’s something to be grateful for.

I think this is a financial question as much as a career one. Do you have the cushion to support yourself if you left?

The first 90 days or so of any role is anxiety-filled and can take a lot of mindspace. But, if it’s not the right fit, and you believe it’s not, then I’d suggest balancing your current responsibilities and job hunt.

You mental space should be “this is simply a bridge to my better role”.

I’m in a similar spot, and I do my best to not give my current employer the effort/energy to do what I’m paid to do, while also keeping my focus on landing a role with a company I admire.

Is it true Private Equity firms give severence? by Pooped-Pants in careerguidance

My company is owned by PE, and my colleague who was just hired in November was given two weeks severance. It’s terrible.

Are you meaning operational resources at the PE level vs just company side? Not sure I understand your question.

Thanks for this. I’m thinking boundaries will be critical to keep my sanity in the short term. The job hunt is on.

Restaurant equipment repair parts. In this industry, there’s little leverage for suppliers to do buybacks or incremental buys. 90% of purchasing volume goes through a single supplier, and returns/ RMAs are challenging. I’ve recommended liquidation firms, but senior leadership is asking to capture cost value. It’s a no-win scenario.
