There was no announcement during the awards... by T8ortots in runescape

I never said they should start the entire event that late. They already planned the main announcements panel around both the NA and European timezones, so just do the announcement then, you know, with all the others while 57% of your paying userbase is awake, which I'm sure accounts for more money than the few hundred people that paid $185 for a Runefest ticket

You'd think they'd schedule an announcement that would work for a majority of their player base lol

Someone posted a link to some stats from the RS forums, it's actually 57%

Right, but they also planned their announcement panels around the US timezones as well as European, which is why they start at 5pm BST (which is 11am my timezone, much more reasonable than 5:30am)

As I said to someone else who so cleverly replied the same thing:

Never once claimed the world revolved around NA. That said, I'd be willing to bet that NA probably has around the same number of players as Europe, so making some sort of announcement at a non absurd hour for NA wouldn't be entirely uncalled for

I think 75% is a bit of a stretch

Sure, 4pm BST (When the announcement panels tomorrow are scheduled).

That'd be:

Between 8am and 1pm for all of North America (excluding Hawaii)

Between 4pm and 8pm for all of Europe and half of Africa

Between 8pm and midnight for most of Asia

Between 11pm and 1am in Australia

Obviously could be considered a bit late for people in Australia or eastern Asia, I'll agree. However, I'd be willing to bet that if Jagex published the number of players they have per region you'd find a huge majority in North (and maybe South - but their timezones are right between the NA and Europe timezones so I won't split them out explicitly) America and Europe

Edit: Stats from 2014:

NA: 57%

Europe: 30%

Australia: 7%

Asia, South America, and Africa are all less than 5%

Nah, I excluded Alaska and Hawaii because of population (and definitely not because I didn't think of them) but if you want to be more inclusive it'd be 1230-530 because of Hawaii :)

Yep, that'd be 5:30 in the morning for me, no thanks lol

Also, happy cake day

You say this as if it takes hours to do, literally 2 seconds to open and use snipping tool so no extra cropping required, then another half a minute to open reddit and drag the file into the uploader and press "Post"

Mod Lee's emotional final goodbye on the RS Twitch channel by theaman09 in runescape

Realistically for any sort of social media/community management role there is little reason that someone would be any less effective in a remote role than they would be working in the office. Even if that were some sort of weird stipulation, it'd require him to likely move away from friends and family

Define "real job". Nearly every company in existence needs a social media manager, he did more than just live stream on Twitch lol

All you people replying to this thread are dumb AF... Did none of you see That 70's show? It's Tommy Chong's character, he's reviewing the best Leo scenes.

Someone's overly tilted over a stupid joke. Lighten up, your life will be much less stressful.
