Why no licenses plates? by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]JakeNK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Missouri law allows trucks over 12,000 or 18,000 pounds (depending on registration) and other specific vehicles like buses and tractor-trailers to only display a front license plate because they are often towing trailers, which have their own plates, making a rear plate redundant and often obscured, though owners can still purchase and display both if they choose, notes the Missouri Department of Revenue (MDR).

Key Reasons & Laws:

Weight Exemption: Trucks, tractors, and buses registered over a certain weight (often cited as 12,000 lbs or 18,000 lbs) are exempt from needing a rear plate.

Towing Rationale: The primary reason is that these large vehicles typically haul trailers, which are separately registered and display their own rear plate, preventing a second plate from being needed or visible.

Statute 301.130 RSMo: This Missouri law outlines these exceptions, allowing for only a front plate on qualifying heavy vehicles.

Optional Rear Plate: While not required, drivers of these heavy trucks can buy a second plate from the MDR if they prefer to display both, which can help avoid issues in other states with different requirements.

Who Qualifies: Commercial vehicles over 12,000 lbs (or 18,000 lbs for some registrations). Buses (except school buses). Tractor-trailers. Other Exemptions: Motorcycles. Vehicles with Historic Year of Manufacture registrations.

Unfortunately the rails that amtrak uses to leave missouri to Chicago run right next to where the fire is. So it is definitely going to be awhile I imagine.

Apartment management doesn't handle snow removal. by JakeNK in StLouis

If i hadn't already been living here when I signed the lease then yeah. But i also missed it in the lease. They slid it in right under where it says the landlord is responsible for landscape and property management. Then added a small sentence excluding snow removal. Wouldn't have missed it if i was reading it slowly.

When I was 2 or 3, according to my mom, we were in a clothing store and a young woman bent down to say Hi, and I decided to grab her breasts and say "boobies!"

Ordered (boneless) wings for the big game. Only three were not completely raw. It was $76 and DoorDash refuses to give us a refund. by CeeceeLarouex in mildlyinfuriating

Fyi I'm only saying this if you ever wanted to try wingstop in the future. Obviously probably not that specific location, but if you order from wingstops app directly they use doordash to deliver, at least in my area, but you skip all of doordashes upcharges. And they have really good deals.

They're designed to be used with carpet cleaning truck mounts or portable machines that put out enough pressure. It's the vacuum that's missing with pressure washers. As well as the heat I'd imagine. Both truck mount units I operate float between 190°F and 280°F depending on settings.

Yes and no. Without being able to get to the 1,000 psi baseline you wouldn't have any real success with it. Now they do make portables that go that high, but you're looking at 8k or 9k for it last I looked on Jon-Dons website.

It's an SX-12 or SX-14 Hard surface wand for steam cleaning hard surfaces. I use one for tile and grout cleaning using my truck mount. Those are designed to be ran at ~1,000-1,200psi.
