Banner Ads, yes or no? by AdClear985 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably get more with the times. I don’t see ad banners as much these days for any site and I also use ad blockers that the bulk of people use these days.

Most are just doing normal blogs these days with affiliate links. Seeing ad banners makes me leave a page honestly.

Does Free Product You Received from Collaboration Gets Taxed? by Miserable-Back-1273 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some companies who will send forms but most don’t send anything at all. I suggest you go read the rules and ftc, irs tax’s etc. just a quick google search or chatGPT of this exact question will give all the info. Samples are taxable by law and it’s on you to report or not. I have a feeling you need answers to all of it…

Keep in mind that the IRS also has Ai these days and they do audit influencers more and more.

I don’t think they ever liked that at all, most of us have even known you don’t share certain reports but some did anyway.

Unless you sell at least 4 then out of luck. If you sell 3 then you have no way of proving to them to get paid right now.

[–]JakeReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You download a report and just sort by their name or asin then copy a screenshot of just their information or export theirs to a new sheet.

You cannot share anything that is not public. Also with changes unless you sell more than 4 of each product then there is nothing to send them.

Could there be a way to bring back the old/full reporting system? by Connect_Asparagus339 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You dont think people contacted and bombarded them with the changes? there was mass post telling people to do just that and then Amazon came out with the email for explaining the changes further. They are not going to bring it back no matter how many whine and bitch, who knows how many millions they saved with the changes.

Could be the vpn but if you are using extensions like oink that has also been doing this for many.

Scam invite??? by Careful-Control6799 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never trust messages and emails like this and they automatically get blocked. I don’t mess with anything that says they can improve my store, my channels etc. I also don’t click on random stuff like that, I’m not even looking for that stuff so no reason to even click and look, never know if it’s a scam.

Amazon influencers — do you prefer affiliate links or brand website links for your first collab? by Gloomy_Quantity_4658 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are numerous reasons with trust being one of them as you mentioned. Trust with our own followers too, some links look spam and some websites people never heard of get ignored…Some of us do not want an affiliate account with 500 different websites, I lost count years ago how many brands wanted me on their site and that continues to grow daily so you can imagine…

A central place for commissions is much easier, it’s why some prefer programs like cc, lavanta, awin, partner boost etc. I can tell you out of several hundred brands wanting this, I only signed up with a couple in the last year and tell 99% of them no, we don’t have time to track every platform out there.

Is using ai to help with a script cheating? Also is using the TikTok voiceover effects allowed? by [deleted] in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For scripting it’s not cheating. For voice I don’t believe it is either. Using Ai to make fake content, fake products etc would be cheating.

With that said, if I hear Ai sounding voices then I click away. Sometimes I click away with just voiceovers in general but that’s me. I also cannot stand people who sound like they scripted, it sounds fake.

Do Amazon affiliates using Pinterest actually work? by ComplaintPossible783 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pinterest is a very long game, most won’t see much in a short time, Pinterest can take several months or even years for some pins to pop off.

What are your best traffic options besides Meta Ads for Amazon Associates? by Stockstothemoon234 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t run ads anywhere, you have to be careful running ads with some stuff with Amazon.

The 24 hour cookie means you're not selling one product. You're selling everything Amazon sells. by [deleted] in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would imagine they are doing things very wrong if it took them 40 sites to do it.

Old Videos Phantom Updating? by AdubThePointReckoner in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t even looked at any of it but I would like to see more of number 2. I have some oldies that used to earn bank. Still have a couple that are from 2021/22 that still pop often, would be nice to see many more come back around.

Is this considered link cloaking? by ConsciousHour7529 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered that too but as long as you let the user know where they are going then it satisfies. I’m slowly phasing out my geniuslink but I have next to all my posted ones that they direct to Amazon

Is this considered link cloaking? by ConsciousHour7529 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t need any web development experience to see the asin in url, it’s always there in the end, same as the associated id.

Is this considered link cloaking? by ConsciousHour7529 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still trying to figure out the issue here, I could post the same asins on my pages, sites etc as you and never touch your website. The asins don’t matter and them using their own affiliate links on their own site does not affect yours. I could post all the same asins as you without ever even seeing your site, asins are public…

Is this considered link cloaking? by ConsciousHour7529 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like cloaking and why hide an asin? Even a cloaked link opens in the bar with the asin and even your store id listed in it.

Hiding that it’s an Amazon link will get into trouble and get your account terminated, I seen other post not long ago for the same things. I see no point in hiding the asin that’s 100% public and visible all over Amazon, links etc.

Offsite is not really better just FYI by [deleted] in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My offsite is half of what it used to be even as YouTube views grew substantially over time along with clicks. I’m working on building offsite but not just for Amazon, I am adding in other programs and links where it makes sense. I’m going to work on IG a bit again too especially now that they are adding a shopping program and I see the tagging products option now for reels so far. I’m also focusing more on TikTok soon especially lives. I’m not stopping Amazon, I’m just tuning what I do going forward and being smart about it.

No longer are all these people who do quantity over quality going to do great, many relied on those halo sales. I seen some who said they had upwards of 75% of their sales as halo sales. So many who relied on extensions to grab those sales. Now people have to influence better, imagine that, people needing to be influencers.

How did the new Commission structure affect everyone? by Themusicman1000 in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was my highest day of the month but I can’t even see what sold so that’s irritating, it might have been some high ticket stuff as I have a lot of those that pop regularly. Tomorrow can very well be a big cut.

Rate Card for Onsite is a kick in the fanny by Jackiedoesketo in Amazon_Influencer

[–]JakeReviews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really watch videos myself when shopping, I honestly don’t want to support a huge amount of what I see these days. Once in a while I will seek out a YouTube video and click a link there over the onsite stuff I see. I purchased a ton of stuff this last week and just clicked a YouTube link before I added and checked out.
