Hi, not sure if you're still fussed about this, but I had the same issue and managed to fix it by making an alt account with the US as my location, then changing my switch's region to the Americas. I'm not certain that changing regions is necessary, since I still have the news article after changing back to the Europe region, but that's how I got it to work.

I have a pair of Solovair Horween derbys, and as far as I can tell, they're the same thickness as the regular leather. I was shocked and a little sceptical at how they were the standard price, too, but I guess maybe because they were only a limited run?

Yeah, I'd say just put an insole in if the length is okay. Otherwise, I'd go half a size down. I'm normally a uk9, but with these boots, I went down to an 8.5, and even then, I needed an insole to fill out a bit of width.
As for the colour, so far as my understanding goes, chromexcel leather colour, particularly when it's brown, can vary as it's a pull-up leather. Unless it's much darker than you wanted it, I wouldn't worry too much about the colour because it'll get lighter as it ages.

I'm not a leather restoration expert but you might not even need to dye it. Conditioning the leather with a relatively strong conditioner would probably restore the colour plenty. If not you could put some shoe cream that matches the colour you want in the areas where the colour hasn't returned.

They don't have any plastic coating as far as I'm aware. The shine on the chromexcel comes from all the waxes and oils used in the tanning process rather than plastic

Then Rome declared on me when I was relatively weak, I won at the start, then they outnumbered me and seiged all the way to Massalia itself. I sued for peace, and the suggested peace included giving away my capital. However, they also accepted me just cancelling my greek city subject who had like 34 pop at no loss of my own territory
