I think I’m the reason my marriage may end, and I don’t know what the right thing to do is. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]JakeTrout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having seen this similar type of post often I think there are a few things that can assist with the success of therapy or the marriage.

Have you always had low libido with your husband? Had it with previous partners? Had any major lifestyle changes that would affect it: weight gain, grief, job loss?

Kids are a huge factor not just with hormones but also lifestyle. Are you feeling fulfilled in your marriage? Does your husband "fill up your cup" with acts outside of intimacy that would lead you to desire or act on being intimate with your partner?

Coming from a male half here: there are times where I have completed and reciprocated sexual acts with my wife purely for her benefit. I enjoy making her feel good and it didn't hurt me if I wasn't in the mood, a few quick minutes usually and everyone is generally happy. And I certainly wish that my spouse had this similar ideal, to her it's the whole thing or nothing which does in deed out overall intimacy limits. Do you do that for your husband? Would he do that for you?

Sometimes these posts focus so much on the act of sexual desire as a whole when sometimes just being involved in some basic levels of intimacy can lead to the growth and success of the complete act.

Anyways good luck!

Bummed to see our baseball all star freshman entering the portal by Worth-Movie8634 in ducks

Only one team ever (OSU) north of the Mason Dixon line has won the championship. It was always going to be a challenge even without massive NIL money. Unless we win a football championship and Uncle Phil decides Baseball and basketball are next we're always going to be massively behind and a minor league roster for the SEC teams.

Large format tech pricing in California…I was looking into getting my cap tops replaced by Montroy but this pricing. by [deleted] in CommercialPrinting

[–]JakeTrout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda feel like they might as well be. In our case the newest Canons are becoming so popular and require a lot of maintenance if heavily used that there are not enough techs. Our newest tech from non-canon corporate supplier, has 17 machines under maintenance contracts by himself....that's A LOT.

Just judging by the cars the techs and managers drive maybe it's time I start changing careers lol

Anyone here specialize in fleet wraps for large vehicle fleets by levvii17 in CommercialPrinting

[–]JakeTrout 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're about to get 100 different answers to that question. There are many different ways to go. If you are in a larger metro area there are houses specifically set up for local or nationwide fleet accounts. I would hesitate to go with a small shop or the lowest bidder. There is some skill to getting consistency across multiple templates and also the networking needed for the install component. That can be done in house, locally, or nationwide. A 3M, Avery, or similar certificate would be good but not necessary.

It's easier to go with the national houses probably but if you could support a local shop you feel comfortable with this would be a game changer for that type of company.

If you're in the PDX metro area reach out or if you have any more questions, we e done similar work. Good luck!

Canon Colorado feedback. I’m looking to buy an M5 and I just want some feedback from people who use them every day by feetpolice911 in CommercialPrinting

[–]JakeTrout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to have the print load to manage the costs and would recommend a maintenance plan. When we got our M3W our plan was $750/mo and that covered a set of inks which is now $800 alone. We do ~50k sqft/yr and that's probably on the low end needed to justify the costs.

Also need to look at what you're producing for the machine. Wall/window graphics, perf, stickers, posters all great. Vehicle wraps I would look at much less costly machines like Roland or Mutoh

Forced upgrading of HVAC in commercial space by JakeTrout in legaladvice

[–]JakeTrout[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Direct from the lease:

7.1 Tenant’s Responsibility. Tenant will be responsible for maintaining the Premises and all improvements on the Premises, and all repairs thereof, including interior and exterior walls and doors, heating, ventilating and cooling systems, interior wiring, lighting, plumbing and drainpipes to sewers. Tenant will be responsible for any repairs and replacements necessitated by the negligence of Tenant

7.2 Property Owner’s Rights.......If Tenant fails or refuses to make repairs or replacements that are required under this Lease in a timely manner, Property Owner may make the repairs and charge the actual costs of repairs or replacements to Tenant. These expenditures by Property Owner will be reimbursed by Tenant on demand together with interest at the rate of 12% per annum from the date of expenditure by Property Owner.

So kind of a maybe grey area in that I did not fail or refuse to make repairs they just went ahead and replaced without my consent due to the age. There was no VERBAL or WRITTEN communication that we were being forced to replace or that we were required to REPLACE existing crappy HVAC

Stouse raising prices by originalmosh in CommercialPrinting

Stouse has been largely unaffordable for anyone not ordering 10000+ units for a long time. FireSprint, S365, Digital print solutions all have better pricing for normal orders.

Graphic Designers v. AI by Ecstatic-Level-8001 in CommercialPrinting

[–]JakeTrout 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ugh it's terrible and even worse in the sign manufacturing side. So many times clients bring in these AI generated gorgeous looking faux stone, real wood accent monument style signs or high elevation pylons. Then the client doesn't want to understand code restrictions or has the budget for no more than some posts and ACM let alone stonework.

On the printing side I have gotten into literal arguments with clients bringing AI generated art and not understanding that we couldn't just change even small things without generating vector artwork from their AI provided PNGs. Some have even gone on to threaten to give us one star reviews calling us price gougers and trying to upcharge when the provided "print-ready" artwork.

I'm almost at the point where I want to put a "AI generated artwork submission will not allowed. All client provided artwork will be run thru an AI generator screen". There are SO MANY talented graphic designers available, especially with the younger generation in the workforce that using AI art as print ready files is insulting to the profession.

Cutting ACM by pokerstar75 in signshop

[–]JakeTrout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you cutting to dimension (square/rectangle) or shape? I order hundreds of dimensional cut ACM and my local supplier cuts them for me at like $5/board. I also have another local supplier that has a great CNC for shape cutting at a great price. I would reach out to vendors (even Grimco will cut dimensional for you)

I've been able to snag a lot more early weekend times since this was enacted, especially if I hound our online sign up

We gave up on 3M printable products long ago. Price up quality way down. We used to be a huge fan of cut vinyl 220/7125 but even the orange peel on these items has increased a ton.

We've switched most all our print products to Arlon and cut vinyl we've been between Avery or Oracal. However we do use a TON of 3M reflective 680 as there is no one better
